I'd like to join please! I have a ridiculous amount of food in my flat - I have an almost full fridge freezer and chest freezer, plus three cupboards, and that's all just for me! I'm a terrible stockpiler and I cook things and freeze the leftovers, but then I get tempted to buy more things. So joining this challenge might help me to be more disciplined and use up what I've got, instead of buying more.

I could probably more or less manage for the month on what I've got in, but that might be a bit unrealistic - so my budget for this month (incuding household stuff and toiletries - I have a big stash of those too!) is
    £40

Ooops, just spent another £9.14 on stuff today. We did need mushrooms, milk and bread, and I also got barbecue sauce that was on offer at Mr M's. Also saw a packet of Magnums at 90p for three, so I got that too, and a lovely candle holder that OH loved. Anyway, off to update my sig, and here's hoping for tomorrow being an NSD!!!

    Hi all

So - had internet shop (with free delivery) delivered yesterday, and picked up few bits of fresh today (that I forgot to order online) and have spent £73.54. Internet shop was dry goods so should last all month.

Having set budget at £220 this month - that leaves £146.46 till end of month.

    Good luck everyone!!

Just popping in to update my sig, on target at the mo but that might change - my fridge/freezer (big american side by side) has thrown a wobbly. OH has cleaned the innards (what a lot of dust and fluff:eek:). Now we see if it behaves itself or if I have to call in an engineer.

Luckily I do have another freezer and I had been running down the stocks so there was room for everything - but it's a mess in there :rotfl:I just chucked everything in.

Really not up to fishing arroung in the freezer tonight so I've just sent OH to MrA (5 mins walk away) for a pizza. Not very MSE but once in a while it should be OK:D

First spends of May...total already £51.49:eek: but have counted at least 26 already cooked and frozen or potential meals in freezer so surely (?!) won't have to buy any meat next week.

Had spent £38.72 in Mr M's yesterday but made the mistake (?) of going to Mr T's and spent the other £12.77 but it was on a very nice steak for OH which is big enough for 2 meals and 2 packs of whoopsied lamb which will make him 3 meals (3 nice chops in each pack) as I don't eat lamb, and couple of other essentials.

OH also bought us the £10 dine in for 2 from M&S (out of his pocket, not budget-even better) so that's another meal taken care of and am working my way through the very nice bottle of red wine that came with it!!

:jhi im very excited as we have just bought a freezer....never had one before so we will be able to have freezer stuff (icecream) and buy more reduced stuff:j

i went into morrisons today and saw salmon trimmings that were really cheap...though would be good for a fish pie...and bits of bacon on meat counter which i thought would be good in a quiche...coulnt buy them as we were going out for the afternoon...thought they might 'turn' will get them next time and post if they are any good

we had some lovely half price strawberries from sainsburys yesterday...the cream to go with them was reduced as well so that was good...i bought some quick jel and thought i might make some fruit flans if i see some more cheap fruit on my travels...the taste of summer imo

with regards to the sea bass i take head tail off remove guts and clean...then put in herb butter wrap in lightly greased foil with a few herbs from the garden and bake in the oven....lovely

    take care

I am in, slipped terribly lately and new caravan means I need to stop the excessive spending....

£260 which will include the food for a week away, I have got the chicken that has been in the freezer since Christmas (have bought loads since and ignored it) out for tomorrows dinner so making a good start! Budget includes all food/drink/cleaning/toiletries for 2 adults, 2 children (with large appetites) a dog and a lizard. Packed food where needed.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
