Lovely breezy day here (good drying day as my mammy would say!) DS out on trampoline with 3 pals (too early for noisy boys).

Anyway to GC - I'm sort of (if nobody minds) going to try recording what happened, when and why in relevant posts and record the post number on my signature.

I still marvel at how little everyone's budgets are. I feed three of us 3 times a day and on occasion (sat & sun) DS pal. I don't think (:o) my shopping is hugely extravagant but I must be doing something wrong nonetheless.

    Here's what I bought yesterday - Asda - £60.51 Aldi - £15.87

    Bacon 2pk £3
    Chickens 2 for £6
    2 gammon steak £2
    Cooking bacon £1.13
    chicken skewers £1
    fish in batter £1
    2 pizza £2

    Supernoodles 4 for £2
    Cheese 2 for £3
    Batchelors pasta 3 for £2
    Aynsley Harriot Risotto x 2 £1.60
4 fresh ham & cheese kiev (YS) £3

    12 Diet Pepsi £3 Pear Cider £4
    18pk crisps £3

Everything else spent was f&v, cereal, milk, bread and personal effects. So, looks like I got more than enough dinners (2 chickens themselves allow for 6) but I still spent a lot of money getting there:confused:

Did my first shop of the month yesterday and came in at £49.30. Bought everything on my (mental) list plus a box of tissues and hand cream.

Progress against my annual target £467.15/£1400.

Last of the "big shops" for me as I now have no room in my cupboards or freezer :D

I bought a couple of bits at Morrisons today as Asda didn't have everything on the list. So, with that in mind:

3 x kids sweets £1 (For the movies, snuck in inside my handbag!)
    2 x Frosties 750g £4
    Kenco £4.96 (Mahooosive jar)
Muesli 1.5kg £2.25 (OH eats so much of it it's ridiculous)
    Whiskas 24 pack £5
    Peanut butter £0.78
    Bread £1.29
    Peppers £1.89

Total spent is £20.55, and that should be it apart from milk, bread and the odd bit of veg until the end of the month.

First shop of the month for me and spent £19.04. Got a bit carried away with fresh fruit but on a positive note I have all my lunches for the next couple of weeks at least sorted so hopefully no midweek shopping trips for me.

    Hi all!

Well haven't done any grocery shopping yet, been busy sorting everything out in the house, still haven't finished but i need a break.
Was over the allotment yesterday sorting out the weeds swear they hide then i turn to go away they pop right up .
Just as i was about to leave another fellow plot holder turned up and gave me loads of fresh rhubarb so going to attempt to make rhubarb jam, never had it before so hope its yummy.

Been using stuff from the freezer again, its needs using, so making mince/brown lentils +veg pie thing. Think i have made enough mince for 2/3 meals, so going to freeze the rest for later in the month. I swear i make one meal and it turns into four  oh well its all good.

    So meal plan so far:-
Sun 3) pasta + sauce / mince pie
    Mon 4) fishcake + pots / salad
    Tues 5)lasagne / pasta
    Wed 6) Stew +HM bread
    Thurs 7)Chilli and Rice

    bye all x

    Hiya

Didn't do very well in April and didn't add up/save all my receipts so I need to forget April. My budget for May is £200. This is made up of £50 Tesco giftcard and £150 in money.

Already spent a large chunk of this and I will add up my receipts and post again in a bit! Cupboards are bursting though :)

    Hi all
From a combination of Asda, Tesco, Iceland, Farmfoods and Home Bargains I almost have everything I need for the month and have only spent £51.69! A few more tinned goods to buy at morrisons tomorrow, and some kitty food too and that should *fingers crossed* be me. I really really want to stay on budget this month.

Just have to say how much I <3 my local Home Bargains store-here is what I got for £5.63:
3 pack Thirst Pockets Kitchen Roll £1.09
    Stardrops! £0.89
Heinz Amoy Szechan Sauce 0.19p! 10p cheaper than Farmfoods!
    6 non scratch scourers 0.49p
    Lint roller 0.49p
Blue Dragon lemon stir fry sauce 0.25p
    12 Oxo veg stockcubes 0.49p
Stain Devils (to try and save my good work shirt from curry :mad:) 0.99p
    6 Tortilla wraps 0.75p

    :j

    Good luck everyone!

Afternoon all, again posted to update signature, its now sitting at just under half of my budget and only 3 days in:eek::eek:.
Mind you we have got some items that are going to last for ages.
Went to MR M and got 2x1.5kg gammon joints for £4.99 each.... cooked one last night in SC and this is going to be sliced up and frozen for sandwiches, the other is tucked away in the freezer.

Went to Netto this afternoon on our way home and spent just under £40,

For anyone thats interested they are selling 5L bottle of Comfort Pure for £3.69, which OH thought was a bargain. This will last us ages so wont have to buy any for a while.
