You'd have thought that with his pyschic powers he would have been able to seen that coming !!!!! LOL0 -
Jarlawuk wrote:I promote just dial services to customers whilst I'm at work so it saves them money, makes the deal better for them (more likely to buy then) and earns me money all at the same time
For example, the numbers you have spammed someone else with by PM this morning would cost them 7.5p a minute to call Australia, when from 0.5p is possible.
This behaviour is parasitic on your friends and acquaintances and members here; if you truly wanted to save them money, you would recommend services that were cheaper than your commission

I used to work for Amtrak helping sort parcels on the night shift four nights a week. I would do my day job from 7:45am - 4pm, sleep from 5pm-7pm, then work at Amtrak from 8pm till 1:30am, and sleep from 2:30am - 6:30am to say i was shattered after three months is an under statment! All those extra hours for min wage. It helped out as it was the run up to Christmas.
I would love to have a part time job that I could fit around my present day job but the hours would have to be flexi as I never know what time I can finish right now, or maybe i should concider a night shift somewhere again.
Any ideas for jobs starting from 7pm? I would prefer not to deliver food (Im on a diet LOL) or bar work.

I train and assess football stewards - I'm a qualified NVQ assessor and just do this on matchdays - I've also worked in a fair few pubs behind the bar and in pub kitchens when I needed extra wages.
A few years ago, I had a p/t evening job in a factory (6-10pm 4 nights a week) after finishing my day (9-5) job along with stewarding on a sat afternoon and working at a pub / restaurant as 2nd chef on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. I didn't have a day off in about a year and was shattered. My income was really lousy at the time so I didn't really have a choice.
DH has driven taxis on a Friday / Saturday night (7pm til 3am) along with a full time job too.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 027

How about working in a petrol station that is open late? Or an off licence or something?Sometimes I feel like a pelican. Whichever way I turn, I've still got an enormous bill in front of me.0 -
I think I may enquire about a kitchen helper job in my local pub....hmmm just thinking out loud.:jDebt Free At Last!:j0

BobProperty wrote:Just a quick question to all you delivery type persons - what is the situation with your car insurance?
I use my car for work and I have fully comp insurance with business use. Didn't cost any extra and I assume that would be the same for delivery drivers etc (mine isnt for delivery work)
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
To have that you commute to and from work is free, and business is use can be free depending on the insurer. My insurance covers me for delivery purposes for when I need it, and as far as I can remember it didn't cost me any extra.
Some insurers will put an extra charge on, though. The most I've heard of is an extra £20 per year.Sometimes I feel like a pelican. Whichever way I turn, I've still got an enormous bill in front of me.0
