I work full time as a support worker and I also care for a 95 year old gent in his home for 2 hours a week, cleaning and shopping alternate weeks. Its not hard work and I get £120 a month(£15 an hour)
    Do what you love :happyhear

Hubby is a retained (part time, on call) fireman weekends and evenings which gives us about £700 extra per month. It does make it hard for me to get a job though in the evenings. I'm a stay at home mum although I've been offered cash in hand (sssh don't tell anyone) to be a childminder for next door kids from December. My neighbour and her OH both work shifts and work one week on, one week off so is makes it expensive for them to have professional childcare as they have to pay for it even when the kids don't go on their week off. I've got 3 aged 5 and under so another 2 won't make much difference - she says hopefully !!!!!

I also dabble on Ebay to make a few extra pounds.

Get them to "pay" you in supermarket vouchers so no cash has changed hands or to buy nappies and other stuff so that you are only doing them a favour. Also get her to have your kids on her week off so that you get some free time for yourself.

Hi. I am a registered child minder and have just finished some training. You are supposed to be registered if you receive any reward fom looking after someone elses child. This could even be a free hair cut!

    Just to warn you!

I do 14 hrs a week as an office manager at a construction company and 5 hrs week self-employed book-keeping for a n advertising company.

I'd like a few hours more selfemployed work but its very difficult to find.

If you want something legal then you can't do cash in hand, as that's illegal.

Pay your taxes like the rest of us do

  • My pizza job pays £5.05 an hour (taxable) and then if you use your own car & fule £1 per delivery within a 3 mile radius and £2 per delivery over this (max delivery is a 12 mile round trip, we're pretty rural).

Plus you get to keep your tips.

If you drive one of their vans then you get an hourly rate & tips.

Fuel money is paid in cash :)

Usually I'll make enough extra in fuel money to cover the fuel I've used plus enough to run my car for the rest of the week!

Amy, are you sure you pay tax if your a full time student? I cant recall that I ever did, or maybe you i didnt reach the threashold. Suffice to say you can earn 4380 without paying tax- as we all do- in any tax year!
