Hi, I went BR on May 21st, can I still join please?
Just wondering how everyone is getting on. I read so many posts about going bankrupt and the processes involved however I can not find much about afterwards. I had my OR phone interview on the 25th May - No assets so pretty straightforward really. Other than that I have had no contact from them, is that normal?
It has been hard learning to deal with money again, I didn't realise how normal using credit was for me. I am getting there though. For the first time ever I am actually saving - I have very recently joined the sealed pot challenge and even though it is only small amounts here and there I know it will be worth it.
The quality of my life has vastly improved as a bankrupt. I am no longer sick with worry, I can answer the phone without the fear of who is on the other end and my postman no longer brings me masses of post.
The most important thing though for me now that the fear has gone I know I can be a better mother and provide for my children with hard earned cash, not just with abstract numbers on statements. (I'm not sure if that makes any sense).
I didn't tell many people, there are very close family members who do not know. I guess I am still ashamed about getting it so wrong. I am so thankful for getting another chance.
Anyway, enough of my rambling!! Can I have my number please? x0 -

Yep I'm still about, was going to give a quick update actually, due to busy few months....after being unemployed since Feb this year, I am now back in employment again, started back last Monday :j
Also been speaking with my OR keeping her updated on everything. House is going one of 2 ways, repossession on the 19th Aug, for which have been given a court order to get out by then, no skin of my nose, as already out, or, completion of a sale for which is going through, again no skin of my nose if it does not complete, but the ex is running around like a blue horse fly to try and get the sale complete, so to minimise any shortfall costs that she will be liable for, due to negative equity, again no skin of my nose as it was her that was the main the reason I got into the mess I did, and ended up BR.
I cancelled my water bill, for which I have been told it was in credit and will return £43 back to me, doing the good deed, phoned my OR to inform her, and said if direct transfer into your account, leave it in there, but if presented by cheque, send it in, fingers crossed for the former then;)
With the new job, the OR informed I will be given a NT code, and will want my first full months payslip, Septembers, but the one worrying thing is that she said she would calculate my SOA with the one that was presented in my petition. Surely they would accept a new SOA?, due to the increase of my travelling costs, and I need to save up for a car, as borrowing one at the moment to get to work, and also my board money is to go up, due to an increase in income, don't you just love parents!
3 months gone, only 9 months to go!....then fingers crossed discharged
Keep at it fellow people of the finest club on here, the May clubbers! :T (and to every one else on here too!)Cheers Dibs
