Vodafone Struggles
Options
I am very unhappy with Vodafone at the moment! Let me explain.
I have been with them for one full contract - 18 months, got a good phone and the price plan of 500 mins and unlimited texts - £35. My bills were around £50 a month (as I usually went over on things like photo messages and internet usage). Ok so this contract ended, so I decided to carry on with them oh well I wish I hadn't!!
So I wanted an upgrade - I decided to ring them up and discuss my options, I wanted a decent phone, 18 month contract, and the same price plan. After checking on the website first I liked the look of the Nokia touch phone, very similar to the Iphone, and they were also doing my price plan - the 500 mins and unlimited texts at a cheaper price of £25!!! Awesome I thought!!!
So rang them up requested the Iphone - nope sorry none in stock would be a 4 week wait - oh no thats no good!!! So went through other phone options, was really hard deciding and was on the phone for ages, I eventually settled on a basic simple run of the mill erricson phone that was apparantly new out. Which I thought would be fine, and to be honest it is, its fine for me. But I was also told they couldn't do the £25 deal for me as I wasn't a new customer! shocking! He did say however that he would reduce my £35 deal to £30 so I settled for that, everything else was confirmed etc.
Its been a month now and just got my first bill through, you know expecting it to be around £50 like my others are due to photo messaging and internet usage. But oh no it was £82!!!!!!!! when queried I was told this was because I was being charged two months line rental in one bill because of the date that the new contract started out?!?!?! Then I was also informed that I was infact on a new 24 month contract and not an 18 month one. 18 months is long enough to have to wait for a new phone/new deal as it is and now i'm told i'm on a 24 month one and I was never even informed of this when I purchased this phone! Basically was told there was nothing I could do.
I'm in such stresses over this £83 is a lot to pay, ok it won't be this every month but I just feel I'm being taken for a ride here, I just want to get out of this contract and forget it, I still think its too expensive even without double line rental!!! Also unfort I have just been made redundant, and I am due to give birth in 2 weeks, so I have no job to go back to, so money is tight at the moment living on my husbands wage etc. I suppose I'm just looking for a bit of hope a bit of light at the end of the tunnel? Is there anything at all I can do about this? or are vodafone right in 'fobbing' me off? x

Vodafone customer "services" are non-existent - lip service only. They are quite correct about the "double" line rental though. Unless you can prove that the new contract you actually agreed to was 18 months methinks you're stuffed.0
