Sexy, why did the window sellers stay so late? I think I would have chucked them out! Staying til midnight is just rude. Did they plan to stay til you agreed to buy? Hope leg and elbow are better soon

WM filter cleaned....never done this before so quite pleased with myself.:D

Smelly wet washing found in dryer, I've forgotton to dry it :o so now on a hot wash in wm.

Car insurance sorted, unfortunately not very MSE but went with whom I'm already with. My head is too woolly at the mo to remember every detail needed for quotes and I was getting more than a little stressed out so just paid the money and its insured now.;):D

Yes I think that is pretty much the idea - they kept going back and forth on the phone to their manager to get the price lower, but we still couldn't afford the monthly payments. They said that if they put it onto a longer credit agreement, that that would make the price each month go down, so OH signed the stuff and I had to write a deposit cheque of £100 on the premise that if they couldn't get the agreement, or we changed our minds (7 day cooling off period etc) that we could get it back. They still hadn't got back to OH by the next afternoon, so he called them to say he wanted to cancel. However, they called us again on Tuesday, so I sent an email to cancel and asked them to send back my cheque (which is what they promised would happen if we changed our minds). Annoyingly, they had obviously already paid in the cheque, as it hasn't turned up, and having looked at my online banking, it was taken out on Thursday! Obviously they are closed at weekends, so will need to wait til Tuesday to see if they send me a cheque back in the post - nightmare!

Arm and leg still sore - think I'm going to go and have a lay down - the bruise is starting to come out on the leg now, and my elbow turned green instantly!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

sexy - that sounds very dodgy. They should have given you the quote and then gone away so that you could think about it. It looks as if they banked the cheque, so make sure you've got the paperwork with the quote and the note about the cooling off period, plus a record of the phone call and email.

There was lot less junk in the garage than I thought there would be, so the car is now mostly packed. Just need to have a rummage through the shed - I know that there are lots of plastic plant pots in there. The stuff I've got to take is pretty much all rubbish - the friend I am going with has nice stuff to get rid of so a. I hope to benefit from being next to all her lovely stuff and b. I'm going to be virtuous about not having wasted as much money on stuff I no longer need!

I have to pass the tip on the way back from the racecourse, so I'll probably drop off everything I don't sell rather than having to unpack it when I get home!

Another load of laundry on the line... it's not drying particularly quickly, so I'll leave the other two loads till tomorrow.

I've just checked the gym timetable, and although it is in the opposite direction, I could go for a swim at 8am and be done well before I need to leave (I picked this particular car boot sale as it doesn't open to sellers until 10.30am!). I have a feeling I'm unlikely to get there though... but like sexymouse I really need to increase the amount of CV I'm doing!

    Afternoon everyone.

I didnt manage to post last night because as usual I was shattered from work.
Things are settling down there again. I think the horse incident the other day lightened things up a bit. We just keep laughing about it. The police came with a horse box and took it back.

Woohooo! Landlady has finally brought me a new tenancy agreement to sign - the old one expired 31st March  So I can now sort out reapplying for housing benefit in the hopes of getting the full whack ;)

Also means I might be able to balance the books a little better when it comes to the budget. :D Now I've just got to go and put out ANOTHER load of washing on the line, another one in and then maybe I can finish this blooming budget I've been trying to do for the last 2 hour but keep getting interrupted!
