For honestys sake, I am deleting anything to do with ironing as I don't iron. Never have. :D
    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I have no spare/kids rooms, so this is always a day off for me :D

but wondering what spare kids were until I read properly!:o
I go spare AT mine - DS has had a mouthful (or three) this morning after I cleaned his room yesterday and bought him new clobber from Peacocks with a 40% off voucher (family and friends - staff are given these to share out) Immensly cheered as the hoodie his GF and I thought he would like which he didn't like last time is now liked:confused:
was £15 reduced to £10 so with 40% off £6:money:and he has a floordrobe already. And I asked hime to shift it - but too much trouble! Boys!
Thanks - we had an incident yesterday morning when half of my breakfast muffin 'disappeared' which I am calling MUFFINGATE.

You deserve a medal - hope hubby has a mega treat planned for when they've gone
that'll never happen to me - no MIL
(and the two I have had - well Flylady would be a shock to 'em - 1 was a hoarder of astronomic proportions. In fact she has a boarded up window pane - been boarded since at least last year...and three strapping sons...)

Flower WTG..there'll be a bit left over so...(nips onto DFW)

Hi Igiveup Toots'll be along shortly to welcome you but here's a tree for Pigpen to spot.:xmastree:
You'll have to change your name to a more positive one...;)

Front lawn mowed (except the bit with violets in) and ground elder at the back of the garden attacked with the edging shears.

Can anyone tell me when I'm OK to mow my aconite, snowdrop, daffodil and bluebell leaves? I don't want to do it too early, as it's taken me ages to stop them coming up blind, but the only thing that really works on the ground elder is mowing, so it's having a lovely time in amongst the bulbs

Lunch eaten (unidentified soup from freezer... I think it's turnip:o), so I need to empty the car boot, get petrol, take my grass cuttings to the tip, go to the health food shop and then the farm shop. When I get back I'll have to pack up the car for tomorrow and THEN I can get down to the flying & gardening.

My mum has sent me a copy of JG Ballard's Empire of the Sun so I've got my 'holiday' reading sorted out... this may mean that I don't get any of the other stuff done that I've planned!

I think I also need to sort myself out with my own broadband, get myself a router, and get my 4-year-old ibook up and running again, just in case I need to start job hunting properly... sadly broadband isn't free here.

Greenbee are you expecting redundancies at your place? What happened after Earth Hour, anything exciting?

Have done 2 loads of washing, DH is mowing then I have to edge. DD1 is reading a poem tomorrow at my parents' ruby wedding party and she is doing fab, though only six. Am trying not to overpractise her so she doesnt get too fed up with it.

Is about to rain in normally-sunny-devon

    well then.

Hugs to all. Princess Jane  1 down........

Flower- yes have had the bug a while but think it is going now. Thought it would only be a 2 day thing but never mind. can't complain.

Toots - I was thinking of you last week. Glad that the are done for now.

I am getting a new kitchen. Started of looking at moving a couple of cabinets around but seeing as my kitchen isn't that big decided better to do all the room and get all the pipework fixed. I can't wait to have a fridge that opens properly etc.......
Just need to box up the stuff etc and figure out what I can put away and what I need to the last minute. Esp the kettle.:coffee:

  • Thanks Valli - I know - I already said that on another thread but cos it was a frugal no spend one they said I should keep it ! I agee tho (puts thinking cap on) : )

I'm gonna make myself a temp list of what I want to get done this afternoon - I've not seen any weekend stuff on the lists cos I guess if u get even level 1 things done thru the week you get time off !!

But I need to start now with that garden, it's been so neglected and only a couple dry days so far, it's woeful and I've had a complaint about it :o from the housing association :o:o so here goes.

    1. 27 fling (light rubbish - broken pots etc)
    2. room rescue (quick trim shrubs)
    3. hotspot (weed 15 minutes)
    4. 15 minutes (mow grass)
    5. shine sink (clean door)

Trouble is I dream of veg, fruit and flowers, :rotfl:so I've plants all over but inherited a lumpy bumpy hard to work/cut garden that is so hard to deal with, I feel beat before I start.

Today tho, I hope coming back to post here will help me feel better !

    Here goes ......

Hiya igiveup, how horrible to have such a challenge of a garden to deal with. We had the same when we moved in to our house. You couldn't walk down the garden without tripping up the ground was so bumpy. So you have my sympathy.
Could you section the garden up in some way? Maybe do a rough sketch, or, even if it's just in your mind. So rather than tackling the whole thing at once and feeling defeated before you've started... tackle one bit at a time?
We do this with our homes, babysteps, one bit at a time, rather than flat out, attacking the whole house and feeling you've achieved nothing.

Maybe dig over one corner ready to plant up some veggies, and a couple of D shaped borders for some flowers? Something that will give you a reward while you tackle the rest?

    HTH??? :)

All the washing is dry and put away now and I've done most of the crossword in today's paper. I've pottered around in the garden (winding up the honeysuckle so it doesn't stick out everywhere, I don't want to cut any off or I'll have no flowers).

    Cloudy at the moment.
