    I'm back

Hugs for Summermoon, friend's family too...how awful. Can I make a suggestion? You say she has a four year old? And this was an unexpected death. My suggestion would be for those who knew the lady to make a memory book where you write down special memories of your friend, maybe with photographs, notes of music she particularly liked or films and books she enjoyed...drinks at the pub she enjoyed, where she shopped - anything really so that when her little girl grows up she will have a more rounded picture of her mother. I hope you don't mind this suggestion - but one day there will be questions and this will make her mum 'real' for her. Poor baby.

Hugs too to Froddy - you love for your brother comes over in your posts...and Lady Liberty. Good wishes and hopes for Justamum and MIL
and Tag what a lovely person your brother sounds - glad you had a good time with him.
Made the rhubarb fool (half quantities - can I freeze the leftovers?) DS isn't here hence the leftovers! - the syrup was fabulous...I used Elmlea.

re the flu.. problem will be if it floors some people and they get secondary infections, especially if they are vulnerable due to pre-existing medical conditions (like my step dad with his dicky heart and he had pneumonia 2007) and people who don't take it seriously enough and try to do too much too soon. Ladies - windows open as much as possible and wash those hands!
I have had a phoneful of text jokes...but there are those of us Flower who do make light of things. (and I count myself in here - totally irreverent, me!) We are going to need all those smiles so keep 'em coming.
ironically we had a lady who died last outbreak locally, in her 40s - the irony is she was a trained pharmacist!
Thanks for the gardening praise! I do like gardening BUT have such heavy clay here that it's hard labout more than pleasure. When we moved here - 1998 - we had mint 'loose' in the garden and the soil is so poor it has only just begun to run riot! I now have a 'pipe' with it in, so it can't run.
Tea was new pots (with mint) cauli turkey joint, roast spuds (I cook frozen for ease:eek: and whoopsied sprouts (19p instead of £1.49 - found them when I went for the cream for the fool) I also got clementines (15p) and 10 bananas for 29p:money:
well done on the carboot Greenbee - but don't get me started on car boots - me and my mate (Trading Standards Officer) have a moan about them when we get together...

Imagine though - Valli digging the garden muttering 'shouldn't be trying to grow stuff - should be making bricks LOL'

That is a wonderful idea Valli. I will speak to my freinds OH, and her sister and see if it is something they would like. Would be a great idea for her daughter to look at when she gets older and starts asking what her mam was like.
    Thankx again for the suggestion.

you're very welcome - it occurred to me that it's something people who are very ill do, they make their own memory box/book for their children which, while some people feel it sounds macabre, it means that one day when the children are older and have questions - well some of the answers are there. Clearly this mum did not have that option, sadly, to be taken so suddenly. Maybe her close family aren't able to think about these things yet, but it's something that could be done as part of her memorial service...even if her OH isn't ready for it yet IYSWIM.

TBH I have often thought about writing letters to my kids to be put in a safe place 'just in case' to let them know how very much they were wanted and are loved and the pleasure and joy they have given me - maybe I will finally get around to doing this.

    HI everyone

Miss A is home and shattered! She had a great time and has brought me loads of muddy clothes to wash lol W is pleased to have her home, has been asking if we could fetch her all morning!!!

Summermoon so sorry to hear the news of your friend, Valli's idea is a great one. W was only 3 when DH died and will have very few 1st hand memories of Daddy when he grows up. That said Daddy is still very much a part of our lives, his pictures are all over and we talk about him most days (I even tell them when Daddy did naughty things or how upset he would be if they have been naughty). Allowing the little girl the space to talk about her feelings and her mum is one of the most precious things people can do for her now and in the future.

Need to go and get some food organised as I have 2 tired children here and we are up early tomorrow to go on a bell ringing car tour o'er Manchester way.

    Hi guys

    Welcome new people :hello:
(((((((Summermoon)))))) how dreadful :( I like Valli's idea of a memory book xx

Hugs, congrats, well dones, never mind's all round, sieve brain has forgotten details of who and what for  ooooh I lied, Nicki personally I'd go for the LoveFilm option, but then again I prefer to watch films in the comfort of my own home and I'm a tight git :D and Greenbee well done on the car boot, you've decluttered and got some wonga out of it too, you go girl x

Well, I gave the utility room it's first coat of paint, soaked straight in pretty much and looked horrendous, tho not too bad now it's dried, 2 more coats to go and I hate painting so it's a real chore, trying to keep the end result in the forefront of my mind.

Tea was put in the SC this morning tho I forgot to add the onions (doh!) so just chopped and boiled some then threw them in...need to be having it soon I'm Marvin'.

Done dailies, etc etc amen, been to see GD this morning, got 5L of washing powder liquid stuff AND 5L of Comfort infusions (Caramel for those who are nebby :D ) off DIL's mam (seems to be a bit of a Del Boy :D ) both for £6 :money:I didn't ask where they came from :lipsrseal

Washing dried on the line no probs, I'm contemplating doing littleys ironing as it's turned into Mount Everest again, already, only been 3 ooooh or even 4 weeks!.... how did that happen :o;):D:confused::rolleyes: and Toots even told me not to let it mount up again - I'm ashamed of myself.

Littleys being paraded up the stairs now to go tidy her room! Will have an early star this week ;)

So glad you added that AnWsMum - you were in my thoughts as I wrote this because of what you have said about your OH in the past - clearly he is still a very important and much loved part of your family and I know that you do things with them that you would have done anyway (Quo!)
(hugs for you too - did Miss A have a good time?)

embb - Thats what I've opted for as well, mainly as I can't be bothered walking 20mins to get to the cinema or paying out £6.10 just to get in. :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl:Going to opt for Guiness & black with some DVDs instead. Much cheaper ;)

I'm still trying to sort out emails -I had 20,000 this morning, 8,500 still to go  and my browser keeps slowing down to snails pace and now my spacebar is playing up  Back to it

Wednesday Wonders ~ Cruddy Study & Bathrooms Done!!:D:D:D
    Level One
    Level Two
    Level Three

Friday is Funky! - childrens rooms! ~ spare rooms or just attack a neglected room!! Done!! :D:D:D
    Level One

    Level Two
    Level Three

After dropping DD at her BF's, it felt too chilly in the garden, but I was still feeling fairly energetic, so got stuck in and have done these two rooms as well! I know you've done the stars already toots, so don't worry about updating!

Such sad news summermoon - but I really like valli's suggestion.
