This looks like a great idea and I know I should join, but when it comes to housework I'm SO lazy! I can't even seem to bring myself to wash up (it gets left for a few days sometimes!) or hang clothes up instead of just throwing them on the floor. I would love to have a nice clean flat but something just seems to stop me (my inner rebel perhaps?) Is there any hope for me at all?!

Aw bless lizzyshep, theres hope for us all lovely, thats why we are here!

Join! You've nothing to lose and even if you do one thing off the list each day its a start! You'll soon start to notice the difference and it gets easier as the weeks go on.

Believe it or not, it also becomes strangley addictive! You become compelled to do things youve been putting off for forever.

Except when you have a hangover and are lying in bed.

Thanks Jo! That does make me feel a bit better. Ok, I'll give it a go. I think I need to start off by giving the flat a proper clean (as proper as I get anyway!) first, so I'm not fighting a losing battle. I have today and tomorrow to do this, so I'm going to just do a bit at a time and will hopefully finish it by tomorrow evening.

Like Nicki, I'm also studying (last but one year of an Open Uni chemistry degree) so a lot of my free time is spent on that, and I'm trying to get a TMA finished this weekend. But I will need to take breaks, so my plan is as follows:

    Today:
Do half the laundry (including bedding, towels etc)
    Change bedding
Tidy up and dust properly (including the cobwebs that have been hanging from the ceilings for a while now!)
    Hoover whole flat
Wash all floors (haven't done this for months!)

    Tomorrow:
    Finish laundry
Clean kitchen (surfaces and top of oven)
    Clean bathroom

Other things that need doing and I'll do if I have time/feel like it:
    Clean mirrors
    Clean windows
    Wash net curtains
    Clean oven
    Clean microwave
    Sort out magazines

I'm also going to make myself a promise to wash up every day - that way it doesn't build up and feel like such a chore.

Gosh, looking at all that makes me seem like a right slovenly cow - I'm not that bad, honest!

Afternoon everyone. I've been around and reading but not posting or flying much. I've had to buy a keyboard to plug into my laptop as the keypad on it has totally gone. House is fairly ok, been trying to keep ontop of things and am being fairly successful atm.

I have had some very sad news tho. A good freind of mine passed away on Thursday, she was 31 years old and leaves behind a loving partner and a beautiful 4year old daughter.
Its hard to believe that someone my age has had her life end just like that. She suffered a brain heamorage(SP) a couple of weeks ago, went into a coma and finally lost her battle.
Its things like this that make you appreciate what you have. I cant imagine what my boys lifes would be like without me. Her poor daughter has lost her mammy, but she has gained an angel in heaven to watch over her.

Sorry, normal service will resume shortly.

thanks Flower, great news about your cheque...knew I'd forgotten to mention something!

Thanks Rach, and good vibes for the job front - any more news or have I missed that bit?

Remind me NEVER to take the front glass bit off my cooker to clean the edge (WHY do cooker/white good designers make so many fiddly bits that everything fatty and greasy can get into EXCEPT a cloth???? why don't they ever design them FLAT and easy wipeable?:mad::mad:) sorry about that, but it is so annoying that I have to take off every knob and button on my cooker front to remove the glass bit so I can wipe a TINY little ledge filled with horrible fat and grease... anyway, did that this morning and the button for lighting the gas fell inside, so I had to pull the cooker right outunscrew the whole top and take it off so I could fit it back on... Still, silver lining is that the cooker is now clean EVERYWHERE, sides, back, underneath, walls behind and at sides, everywhere... phew, that was hard work...:D

Rest of kitchen cupboards and worktops and tiles have also now had a good clean and my hands are really dry and awful now, better get some cream on quickly...

Huge hugs Summermoon, what an awful waste of life... like you, I wonder how my lot would manage, but life goes on as they say, and I'm sure they would be fine with lots of loving support around them... I hope your friends OH and DD have the same support as I'm sure you will give them...
