The natwest/rbs switch is happening but no definate date as been set yet.

It should start happening from june/july 2009 onwards as RBS contract runs out with Maestro at the end of 2010.

There is a link thats associated with visa debit stating they have won the contract of RBS but i cant post it on here as it restricts me being a newbie.

If you want the link send me a private message and ill be happy to send onto you.

If anyone who isnt a newbie can post it the forum then that would be great.

    Thanx

So we're within weeks of seeing new RBS/NatWest account holders being issued with Visa Debit cards? I know its a process that will take a couple of years for existing customers but i'd have thought by now we'd have had something to read on their websites about it or some leaflets sent out about this major change.

Yes very true I work for RBS myself and I know there communication skills are very poor when it comes to informing staff of changes.

We will possibly get told on the day it happens like we normally do lol

I know merchants had until the end of May to ensure there equipment was ready for change.

Once there in circulation just report your old card as being damaged and youll get a visa debit card. Rather than waiting for you existing card to expire to get one.

Im sure there will be alot of damaged cards in august lol

Wonder if Yorkie bank will get rid of Maestro? As they are a smaller bank there is never much mention on them!

I think they was looking at issuing debit mastercards instead.
