I love this thread, my DS now coincidentally studying Geography at Uni, was a dead ringer for little ribbon. He knew every car in the family before his sister was born so 16/17 months old he would tell me colour and model. He was also into flags, countries, planets etc.
We once went on holiday and a friend asked where we had been, he said "Tunisia" and she asked if he knew where that was, "It's right next to Manchester Airport " was his reply, classic, he was 3 at the time.
Enjoy him, they grow up far too fast!0 -
forgot to say the ball is only about half the size of an ordinary beach ball, and says age 3+
age 3+ here there's a light up globe, my 9 year old has one a bit like this as his nightlight http://www.elc.co.uk/toy-3203752% tight0 -

There seems to be a wealth of choice for kids who are interested in farm animals and trains, but where do I find ideas to suit HIS interests?
I think it is great he is so interested at such a young age.
Why not use one wall of his bedroom and create a picture of space? I painted one or my 6 year old who has the same fascination, but I'm sure you could print or buy pics if you didn't want to paint it yourself.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. jellyhead wrote:they're really nice. that site also has a magnetic floating globe, looks fab but at £70 a bit out of my price range lol! i've never seen magnetic paint before, i've been looking for a magnetic board for my boy's room, like a pin board but so he can use fridge magnets instead of pins, and found magnetic paint on the site, how cool is that!!
Did you know you can also get rolls of magnetic...erm....stuff too?
Imagine the thin magnet from your fridge magnet in a great big roll for you to cut up to the size and shape you want...sticky on one side so it attaches onto anything you want.
We used to get rolls for school for about £4 from the local art and craft shop and do all sorts of fun stuff with them.
GR- maybe you could get hold of some of this and laminate the planets for the fridge?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

This made me think of DD (3) when we went on holiday earlier this year. We checked in, passed through security etc to the duty free lounge when she announced " are we in America now". Bless, if only it was so easy!0 -
