i think setting specific day/date for count ups and posting is an excellent idea and i will certainly join in with that next year.
lesley hope your enjoying the ipod touch0 -
52p in the tin today, and only 2 more chrissy presents to buy. Like the idea for a specific day/date for count ups. I have wandered this year with this tin as too handy for emergancies. It is the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish. Tolkien.Save 12k in 2025 No 18 365 1p challenge 2025 No 20

Lesley, enjoy your ipod!
Guesty, wow you are doing well! How far are you from getting the £100 you want to bank? £8 in one day, that’s a lot!
Cat, well done on the £110, that’s great! Doesn’t matter about spending in the computer, needs must and it means you didn’t have to spend on your CC, so it’s all good!
Sonas, well done on putting some more in your tin, every little helps as some advert says!
I’ve got about £2.30 left of my pocket money as I had to buy a few bits and bobs this week – thread and sequins to sew on the knitted flowers I’m trying to sell. DH gave me a tenner today to get some petrol, got the petrol on my CC so I get the points (mine builds up points and sends me vouchers) and I can use the cash as my pocket money for the week, saves going to cash point. I’ve talked to DH about if he wants to have a weekly cash allowance for all his bits and bobs so that we can budget more easily and he thinks it’s a good idea. I’ve suggested £20, and he would have to buy all his lunches and beer out of that unless he takes food from home for lunch. It might encourage him to be more economical!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Announcement: We will be having a count up of our pots on 2 January 2010. This is the first Saturday of the new year, which gives us time to get all the revelry and partying out the way and will give us fresh impetus to keep on saving in 2010. Don't feel pressured to join in, but it will be nice if as many as possible can count up and announce how much they have in their pots as this will be encouragement for all of us!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

I think monthly might be too much, I was thinking of doing it every 3 or 4 months, but please feel free everyone to post your opinions, then we will decide based on the majority view.

Counting up on the first of every month sounds like a plan, I will join you all.

Have you ever wanted to climb into the TV and slap people. Doctors has some very annoying characters!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hello,
I am a newbie on the forum. Well actually I have been lurking looking at posts for some time. This is my very first foray into posting. Be gentle with me
This seems like as good a place as any to start. Having just had a major life change (moved from England to Wales, started a new job, sold my house - for 20k less than it was worth two years ago - and bought a flat (surveyors downvalued it so had to raid savings and max credit cards so as not to lose it) and now need to knuckle down to pay off the cards. Havent totted it all up yet but I am panicking as never been this much in debt before. So can I join no? Not sure I will have as much to count on 2nd Jan as everyone else but hey, have to start somewhere.
Oh one other thing, how do I register for this particular thread or bookmark it to check back Wouldnt want to lose it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons.
