  • Update!

Parcel turned up at 11.15am safe and sound - panic over!

Apart from slow delivery they have done their job ok.

Will try and avoid using them in the future, but only because of the lack of any depots to collect from.

    Slow delivery?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
  • Yes - seller paid for 1-2 day delivery with £250 insurance

Was posted Tuesday night, being 1-2 day delivery I'd have thought it was going to arrive on Friday at the latest. Mind you judging by some of their previous delivery times I'd say that it was ok by their own standards.

I'm just glad that I got what I paid for - personally when I have sent things out I have mainly used Royal Mail / Parcel Force or DHL - UPS 'appear' to one of the better ones as I once requested collection and they collected in under 5 minutes!!

Correct me if i'm wrong, Hermes do not offer a faster service..........

I've even just logged in and click 'send your parcels', selected £250 compensation and still no other options for faster service

Are you sure the company you bought the item from haven't listed incorrect delivery speeds?

The recipient was not available for two of those days to receive it. It is also possible that delivery was attempted on the Friday, but seeing as it couldn't be accepted later than five o'clock, it is hardly a surprise it wasn't delivered until today.

I'm not sure where you get that information from as according to the tracking information supplied by bikerben it wasn't even sent out to the courier until Friday (9th) who, for whatever reason, didn't receive it that day, therefore probably didn't receive it until Monday, the day it was actually delivered!! :rotfl:

It means that yesterday it was out for delivery to your courier but for whatever reason they didn't receive it. Perhaps they weren't home when the depot tried to deliver to them. Should imagine they'll try again today. Once your courier receives it they will then deliver to you, which could be the same day depending on their schedule.

    Thanks very much! :)
