I'd like to add about A&L that when I applied for that account a couple of years ago they only gave me a £450 interest free OD which wasn't enough to transfer my OD into anyway.

And when I started using that account for savings I kept getting £5 underfunding fees on months where I'd put in the minimum amount but it was Christmas or a bank hol or something so it had gone in on the 1st of the month after, which I didn't think was fair.

And they would never accept more than 2 bags of coins when I tried to pay in my £2s until I said I'd take it to Barclays instead.

AND the girl on the counter is always chewing gum which I think is horrid in a customer-facing role. So yes. I'm not keen on A&L either :D

Glad to see you've put something positive to focus on in your sig Poddle!

Tink, don't be too hard on yourself! You're doing a good thing by aiming for that. You can do it!

I really need to get back on the savings band wagon. I let things go way too much over the easter break, well it's all gone down hill since I got the Pashley really! Going to set myself a budget Friday, move a bigger chunk into savings so I'm not tempted to go shopping.

As for A&L my sisters boyfriend is with them and thinks they're the best thing since sliced bread (okay, slightly over the top) I don't know anything bar Abbey bank wise though!

ETA: Your sig looks much happier now Poddle, well done on earning all those pennys!

I forgot about that, I can't believe it's still not sorted! What a nightmare!

How's about First Direct? They're amazing -OH and I have never had any probs with them in over 5 years. You just have to open a second product with them to avoid account fee if you're not going to pay in more than £1500 per month.

First Direct refused us, I'd love to be with them. I intend to write to them once NIM is on electoral roll and I've got a note added on my credit record and as them to manually reassess us.

Yes miss Cinny, savings for you, I was actually worrying about you last night, cursing your mother and sister for unleashing this spending monster when you used to plan for the future! I know you're only young but if things were to suddenly change it's always good to have some savings behind you. I think anyone here who has been in debt will agree.

If I had the luxury of being able to buy the train/plane seats next to me so I wouldn't have some sweaty fat man invading my space, especially on a long journey, I would!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Reminds me of mine and OHs first holiday together a few years ago. We checked in at the airport quite late and didnt get seats together. Half way through the flight i went up to see OH and see if he was ok (first time flying) he was wedged between two fat smelly women, his face was a picture!!!

    LOL Flower! Your poor OH!
I think I have an unused FD account, I used to use it for savings but more or less emptied it to pay for my car insurance one year and never topped it up again! Will have to check that out!

I knooow, I've been a real spend thrift recently! I need to set myself a target, for the end of June? Was thinking saving to £800 is realistic, but maybe £900 to push myself a bit more.
My problem is, I'm fickle! If you hadn't all guessed!

Ohh, forgot to say. If anyone's near Clumber Park they're having a 1940s weekend, 13-14th June. Will be dragging OH, don't think he'll dress up though!

Hmmm, don't really think OH is a 40's kind of guy, his limit is the 90's; he thinks all decades previous to then are rubbish! Weirdo.
    Cinny, fickle??? Noooo!;)

I know, who'd of thunk it?

Just remembered its Eurovision this weekend! OH just 'happens' to be working, so it looks like it's just me and a tub of Rocky road come Saturday night!

Am I the only person who doesn't have the slightest interest in Eurovision? I don't mind watching a bit of it for Terry's sarcy comments but I just find it boring, even when I try to embrace the cheesiness.
