I've seen the trailer Tete, looks really good! Will give me nightmares but it looks worth it! I saw the trailer for Synecdoche, New York too Poddle, not a clue what it's about but it looked like one of those odd quirky movies I'd love.
Worked out I've saved £19.50 by getting the Cineworld card, or £2.70 a movie so far. No doubt we'll see another 3 before the end of the month so that's £1.68 a movie. Crikey!

Tete - I just read that too, didn't read the responses thought, but you would give your seat up without a second thought really.

As for Bluebells, was it Poddle who asked?! They're only protected in the wild so you can pick them!

TBH Tete, I'd probably give up my seat but I'd be peeved off about it! £50 is a lot of money and if I was pregnant I'd make sure I booked a seat in advance if I was going on a train journey after being stuck sitting on the floor too many times, it's bad enough when you're not weighed down by a massive belly! I hope that there are some nice people who give up their seats to me when I'm pregnant though, I can't imagine too many people doing it nowadays!

I was reading that too - absolutely shocking! Especially the people who said 'well, she chose to get pregnant' like that's a reason not to give up your seat! I'm surprised more people wouldn't have offered to sell her their precious ticket :rotfl::rotfl:

Give it time, there'll be people having an auction, selling their seats to the highest bidder, preggers or not!

And one who says 'our taxes are paying for her state handouts i'm not giving up my seat as well' - I don't think the question specified that se was on benefits, bit judgemental there I think. I'd be peeved too Birdie but I wouldn't be able to sit looking at her.

Never heard of this New York, hard-to-spell film, must look it up ...

On the subject of trains... OH and I went to London on the train last year and we had seats booked, our train then broke down at York so we had to swap where the train was so full we got stuck in the corridor bit between carriages, sat on the floor with our bags between our legs and First Class was practically empty! No-one was allowed to sit in there unless they paid the extra money even though the trolly dolly guy got stuck in our corridor bit because he couldn't get past all of the people in there! Maybe the staff should offer the pregnant lady a seat in first class in the Moral Dilemma thingy!

Hey guys haven't popped in for a while but I've been reading!
Everyone sounds like they have so much going on right now! I am not doing so well with the MSE, my mini haven't really admitted it yet goal is to have enough in the bank when I leave uni to cover my student loan for my tuition fees, (I get a loan for maintenance and fees, and my mum gives me money too so I'm saving the loan and living off mums money but trying to earn/make enough to be able to give her some back when I graduate/have enough to cover my fees :( I think my current student debt is erm... :( £14,000 which is really really depressing. but I have 2 ISAs (last year and this year) and I have some money in ICICI Which I am trying to add to and trying to not spend loads but its so hard!
Anyways, off to my friends to revise now :( maybe she will motivate me...?!

    See ya laters

Also on the subject of trains, OH and I were on our way down to London last year on a packed train and there was this woman sitting by the window with her bag on the seat beside her. We didn't notice anything until the driver was stood beside her and she was shouting. Turns out she'd bought two seats as she didn't want to sit next to anyone and now the driver was trying to make her give up her spare for this man. What do we make of that? Personally I thought if had such a phobia of other people and she'd gone to such an extreme of paying double, she could have just said, 'my husband's sitting there, he's just in the toilet' or somthing? I felt a bit sorry for her in the end!

I heard on the radio this morning that they're going to start charging £2 extra to book seats on the East Coast mainline.

ETA, I wish I'd had your foresight when I was a student Tinkerbel, I just spent a bomb on clothes and drink and was in debt for the 5 years after I graduated!

Sam, are you in a position to transfer current account? What about something like the Alliance & Leicester one that offers £100 and a 0% overdraft so you can still save up to pay it off but you're not paying interest in the mean time.

Going to A & L really isn't worth £100, they are absolutely appauling. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with, and I'm currently taking them to the ombudsman for dire policies and inadequate handling of information. They decimated my credit rating and I am a one woman mission to stop anyone going there and making the same mistake I did.
Can NIM not just teach primary, then he won't need to specialise? (I think) - I shouldn't be suggesting this, the system seems to be full of teachers who don't really want to be teachers.

He's got no interest in primary, plus there are more teachers for primary than there are jobs, so no bursary to train either.

Tete, I think that if the woman had paid for the seat, she should have been allowed to do what she wanted with it. If I had the luxury of being able to buy the train/plane seats next to me so I wouldn't have some sweaty fat man invading my space, especially on a long journey, I would!
Tinkelbel, you should be proud of yourself for acting now so you're not going to be struggling when you leave uni! All of my friends just wasted their student loans on shoes and booze!
ETA, I'm leaving A&L as they are a pretty crummy bank Dinah, but to give them their credit they did refund me £25 (out of a bigger fine!) when my mortage came out of that account rather than the one I thought it would! I had to send them a real 'woe is me' letter though!

I forgot about that, I can't believe it's still not sorted! What a nightmare!

How's about First Direct? They're amazing -OH and I have never had any probs with them in over 5 years. You just have to open a second product with them to avoid account fee if you're not going to pay in more than £1500 per month.
