Ryanair isn't on the list so can't use them for flights, I guess I feel like I have a LOT of them stored, they should be used for something big. If they'd kept up the double petrol points offer we could very likely have got about 75% of a smashing holiday for next year, which still might be the way to go.
I just don't want to pay over the odds for something I could get cheaper in cash. Wish they didn't have the expiry, I remember reading about that lass who paid for the whole wedding and honeymoon on tesco points, would be great if I could have counted them towards my wedding savings! (Which I'm still not actually admitting exist, hence not in sig, bad ju-ju, you understand girlies!).Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yep you do, if you had £5 of vouchers for Tesco you'd get £5 off your shopping, or £20 worth of deals, which can be used for a lot of holidays, pizza express, jewellers, hotels, etc.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

It's not just about the money though is it Birdie? It's the stress too, I wouldn't want to have to 'manage' NIMs family and mine for a week abroad. Personally, despite the wedding fear, I would go for a big do here, best honeymoon I could afford (or win!) and have all my family and friends there to celebrate our day, but then not all be milling about after! You only get one chance to get married, and my view always has been that people are more important than anything else, and I would hate to think I had excluded or made things difficult for someone by having a wedding they had to pay to attend. While my favourite part would no doubt be the honeymoon, I've got the rest of my life to travel, and only one chance (hopefully) to get married.

Coming to Darlington in about two weeks if you fancy taking him Birdie.
Yeah I'm not sure if my parents and NIMs would get on, I think they'd both get on fine with his dad (if they could understand him) and my dad would get on fine with his mum, but then my dad gets on fine with everyone, he's master of small talk when he needs to be, but my mum has taken it very personally that his mum isn't my biggest fan and I'd have the horrible feeling she might ask NIM-mummy why!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Cor, I think I spent too long writing my last post, I missed loads! The 40's weekend sounds fun Cinny, I definitely think they should dress up!
Last year I used my Tesco points to pay for 2 nights at The Tower Hotel in London, it was fab and even better it was free! I'm trying to build them up again but not having too much luck... I also think I've lost about £8worth of vouchers in the move! Nightmare. Tete, don't let Martin see that you just use your vouchers off shopping, he'll go mad!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Lol, don't let Martin hear you say that! He's dead against using your Tesco points in store - it's almost as bad as having premium bonds!
That's a lot of points Dinah, are there any nice weekends away you can get?LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Well we're booked to go to Edinburgh in October, and Birmingham in November, no doubt will be going to Ireland October, December, May, July and late Aug/early september too. That's at least 5 days of NIMs annual holiday, possibly 8, and he only gets 20 - need to leave 10 so we can have two weeks somewhere really.
That said I'm still REALLY hoping we can go to New York at Christmas for 5-7 days. Can only do that if he gets 20 days holiday + a set 3/4 days between Christmas and New Year, as it's his year to go to Ireland for Christmas this year, and it makes sense to go out on the 24th and stay until the 3rd or so, so he gets as long as possible with his family. I keep having nightmares he's going to ask me to give up Christmas with my family next year. His mum and dad alternate years with the boys, this year is his dads year, but it means his mum will miss out again next year. I can see why he'd ask, but obviously I like Christmas with my family too! We do live with my family, he did move for me etc, but Christmas is a very special day. Plus they'd expect me to go to Catholic church which would make me very uncomfortable (she looked at me like I'd said I ate babies when I answered her question last year that 'no, I didn't go to mass on Christmas day', yet NIM didn't go either and he's Catholic and she didn't say anything to him!) I don't want to miss out on Christmas with my family because they didn't get divorced! Urgh, sorry, long term worry that keeps giving me bad dreams. Hoping now I got it out of my head they will stop.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Eek Birdie and Poddle! Well in my defence it's my Dad's clubcard, I just pick up points for him when I'm in.
