Hi everybody
Cinny - Thanks for the car comment. Fluffy dice are out but I do need to start and empty the old car of all the stuff in it and leave just the bare essentials - TomTom holder and charger, keyfob for work car park and breakdown bag. Since it is the 10th June, I just wonder when the first payment will be - I am sure it will be on all the paperwork when it comes through since the finance was approved about 17:30 last night.
Dinah - Do not freet to much about it. I recently changed jobs from working in Glasgow to working in Slough (PS - The move told 4 days of driving between Glasgow, Bracknell and Hartlepool and then back down again with the car) so know how you feel about getting the books to balance. I moved in January and the books took till March/April to start to settle down with all the increases in income tax, NI and student loans on top of waiting for backdated money and final pay.
Now we finally have that sorted we can see the wood from the trees and that is one of the reasons we can afford a new car and get away to Paris this year. Have to remember to book the Moulin Rouge tickets at the end of the month.
Right better move have been sent on a mission to find the fishmongers. Nearest is in Reading. Just trying to decide to go to the gym first or on the way back - the car could end up smelling of fish related produce.0 -
Sounds like you got a good haul Cinny! There's a shop in Harrogate you'd like if you like LLROK, it's called 'Bijouled' and is full of really funky handmade jewellery (my favourite things are little doughnuts and ice cream cones on necklaces and earrings!) and vintage clothes and bags.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

It's not just about the money though is it Birdie? It's the stress too, I wouldn't want to have to 'manage' NIMs family and mine for a week abroad. Personally, despite the wedding fear, I would go for a big do here, best honeymoon I could afford (or win!) and have all my family and friends there to celebrate our day, but then not all be milling about after! You only get one chance to get married, and my view always has been that people are more important than anything else, and I would hate to think I had excluded or made things difficult for someone by having a wedding they had to pay to attend. While my favourite part would no doubt be the honeymoon, I've got the rest of my life to travel, and only one chance (hopefully) to get married.
Shaloin Monks Tete:
'The Ultimate Masters of Kung-Fu' (Time Out) return to the Peacock Theatre with a show jam-packed with incredible feats of strength and skill, which will delight the whole family.
In a crescendo of kung-fu sequences, the Shaolin Monks are lifted aloft on sharpened spears, splinter wooden blocks with their bare hands, break bricks on their heads and fly through the air in a series of incredible backflips and spins.'
Google them, youtube videos do look quite fun! Good idea Cinny, I think I will call the box office find out if they sell tickets cheaper on the day/have a last minute list.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oo err missus! Sounds pretty good actually, are they the ones that wear orange?
Pretty jealous this weekend, just remember my parents are off to a 1940s weekend in Haworth. Winston Churchill wannabe and all! (admittedly, he doesn't look a thing like him going by last years pictures but he has a cigar!) Trying to convince them to dress up but they aren't having any of it.0 -
Oh, I got my tesco points through last night. £19.50. Added to my current stash if used for 4x deals we now have about £630 worth. Only £12 of this expires this year, but a lot more expires next year. Advice appreciated on what we should use them on!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Can't you use them for airmiles? Not a fun thing to use them on, but you could get your flights to Ireland for 'free'? Or go to a theme park? I think Drayton Manor is something like £7 worth of points.0
