I've not been able to get online all weekend as the laptop has died! OH's Dad had a good look at it and thinks that it's the motherboard (??? Where's the Daddyboard?) so OH's taking it back into the shop today so hopefully it'll get sorted. I feel really bad because the hardware has probably been shaken loose with all the moving about it's been doing with me recently!

How horrid that you've got to have stupid disciplinary action Dinah! It's good that your manager is on your side though.

There will be an investigation, but hopefully I won't be found negligent so no action will be taken against me.

I have a new game, it's called see Europe on Ryanair's dollar. Basically I'm planning a fantasy trip around europe, based on never spending more than £5 a flight, and just hoping from city to city, based on where I can fly cheapest and nothing more. I'm sure there is a book to be had from this concept if I can have enough humourous adventures en route!

Definitely book worthy stuff Dinah, just make sure you run into plenty of eccentric locals in each city to get hilarious anecdotes to write about! Maybe you could add visiting the free less visited attractions whilst in each city to get a taste of really cheap/free european travel adventures!

Europe on a shoestring type thing. I genuinely think I could get a book out of it, but, I have a job who won't allow me to swan off for 3 months! Neither will NIMs for that matter.

Not even if you asked really nicely?! I think my company lets you take an unpaid absence which ensures that you've got a job when you come back but then there's the whole problem with it being unpaid!

Couldn't you squeeze it into weekends? Something like 'One European City a Month for a Year for £xxx or How I Expanded My Cultural Horizons on a Shoestring and a Time Limit'

LOL funny thread today! Ooo-er TPA. And I missed all this chat about late-night aerobics. Chance would be a fine thing with OH working so much at the minute.

Italy sounds great Dinah, my boss loves Venice and goes there once a year usually. He raves about the place. It looks really beautiful. Sorry to hear about the investigation too. People are terrible, they will whinge about anything! I hate that everything is somebody else's fault these days (sorry sounding like an old whiner myself now, lol).

Uni starts on October 1 Tete, yipee! It must be nice working at a uni, quite laid back and stuff? Am quite nervous about making friends, as I am not studying in Lancaster. And I am hoping to get a railcard even thought I am part time. Otherwise it will be expensive to travel to Lancaster. Need to find a family that I can lodge with one or two nights a month. Maybe I can pay in cleaning and ironing!

Unfortunately travelling out on weekends is really expensive, plus I never did the travelling thing so now the concept of doing a nice long run of it is really tempting. Oh well.
