Some faiths don't drink, and some people obviously don't either. I like the idea of some cookies or muffins in a little basket though. Bit twee but I know they have kids so that would be an all inclusive sort of thing. Although can't really loose out taking flowers for the wife (both are actually pastors at our church, but I adopt the age old tactic of appealing to the woman in any situation, since most men are happy if their missus is happy). Email asks us around on Thursday night, they're both really nice so should actually be a good night.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good luck with the rest of the packing Flower! When is it you move?
Moving on Friday, cant wait!!
Im exhausted now, we've just had 3 trips to the tip - how have we managed to get so much junk?!!
But at least we look like we're getting somewhere with it now and most of it is ready to be loaded into the van when we get it.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Managed to think of anything yet Dinah? I'm sure a batch of your chocolate cupcakes (The Hummingbird recipe) would go down well! I supposed you'd be left feeling pretty 1950s housewife if you were to turn up at your Pastors house with a batch of perfectly turned out muffins.
ETA: Ooo, not long Flower! I'd be excited too!0 -
Not long now then!0

I'd love to be a 1950s housewife! Was very bad at the weekend and bought some glasses on Etsy from Yava glass... I'm gradually building up a 'bottom drawer' of pretty things for when we get a house.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Does NIM know about this "Bottom Drawer"?0
-
I can't see it, but I'm guessing it's purdy! Etsy is terrible though, I used to be prone to blackouts then coming around to find lots of etsy orders in my inbox...
ETA: About the bottom drawer, I've already bagsied an old storage room at work so I can start getting cheap bits for when me and OH move in together. I'm not allowed to start until we've started saving though. Although, I've already kind of started saving..0 -
NIM has contributed to the bottom drawer let alone just knows about it! He agrees its a good idea to have as much house stuff as we can bought before hand so we don't end up sat on the floor eating off paper plates! That said, he doesn't always get consulted when I buy things for it, but then he would on big things like furniture. He's just not very design orientated, whereas I can see how little details would make the room in my head.
He's being bad, encouraging me to have hope on the house I've fallen for as there might be a way forward. Grrr!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

A way forward? You need to tell us more.
Will NIM get to choose the Tele? Its a man privilege!

I wanna see the dream house of amazing wonder!
I agree with you and NIM, plus if you buy now you wont be on such a tight budget and be able to hunt around for things you love rather than thinking on a budget. At least, that's what I'll be telling myself. Was eyeing up a small slower cooker the other day thinking 'That'll do for me and Rich!'0
