LOL Dinah! Low-carb diets do not go hand in hand with low-fat so don't worry about carbs if you're going the way of counting calories. Low carb means no calorie counting, just making sure you eat no more than 20g of carbs a day. Fruit is generally not allowed, especially at first on LC diet as they are full of sugar, albeit natural! It's odd what veg you're not allowed too because of the carb content in them, you're allowed butternut squash but not sweet potato, peas are a no-no but green beans are good, only green peppers are allowed and sweetcorn is definitely off the menu! Takes a while to get your head around it all!

I will definately have to try that! The only problem is, I can't peel them! I always seem to get ones that have skins that are stupidly strong! And the packets of ready-prepared chunks are expensive for how much you get.
I think they are officially impossible to peel! I just cut it into chunks and hack away until there's no skin on said chunks! I probably waste loads! Sometimes I just leave the skin on, it hasn't killed me yet!

ah okay, definitely going the traditional low cal route, lots of fruit and veg, cut back on the choccie, ice-cream, white bread, meat, creamy pasta etc. Couldn't live without my fruit!

Have a look at this site, it's a basic LC Diet plan, weightloss may be slower but still works, it involves fruit and the diet that I follow isn't so lenientm so you may find it easier! http://blogg.passagen.se/dahlqvistannika/?anchor=my_lowcarb_dietary_programe_in

See, I couldn't do that. My noggin is like a constant calorie tally! When me and OH are out he always tells me off for it, I have to pretend I'm looking at the packaging design and not the calories. :o But then I did have a bit of a thing about counting calories a few years back so I can see why he'd get worried. I'll just do the 'cut down on food and exercise more' thing, I'll get on the treadmill tonight after work and everything. Promise!

Urgh, considering being good and going for a brief 30min run on the cross trainer at the gym on the way home. Would still be back at the same time as NIM.

Vet doesn't sound happy with kitty's blood test, has said he needs her urine sample before he will make a diagnosis

Poor Kitty! I hope she's OK, or gets fixed quickly once the vet knows what's wrong!
I have to go to the gym tonight, I'm really not liking it now! I'm not seeing any difference, I'm still exhausted on the machines so it's not like I'm getting fitter and I walk like John Wayne the day after doing the leg weights so where's the benefit?!
