Just got some unexpected time off yesterday at work, so OH and I are looking for a 5 night city break somewhere in Europe for less than £500. My sis lives in Copenhagen so have emailed her to see if she's free. Apparently they have a granny flat annexe thing so that sounds really cool. Otherwise with a little niece of 2 and nephew of 4 it's not so much of a relaxing time!

The other options seems to be Madrid. I'm quite keen as I like to practice our spanish, and there's a brilliant series of guides by Le Cool. The one for Barcelona is great so hopefully Madrid would be cool too. The flights seem to be around £100pp and hotels more like £300ish for 2 for 4 nights, which I think is ok.

But then if we take £500 spending money that's all of our holiday money gone.

We have booked 9 days off work in August, but I have this jury service thing still unresolved and OH has got a gig at a UK festival at the end. He gets 2 free tickets and a bit of money so that kind of takes care of itself.

Or, OH Mum and Dad are away so we could go down and stay in their house in the SW and borrow their car and go camping as well. That would definitely be the cheap option!

    Decisions, decisions ....

I accidentally ended up in the middle of the naked bike ride the other weekend. I wasn't naked!
LOL, I'd have loved to see your face when you realised what was going on!
We went out for dinner with OH's family last night which was a bit of a bad idea as the restaurant was full of very drunk women who had fallen into the place after Ladies Day at the races (pah! 'Ladies'...after 3 bottles of wine each they weren't!) Anyway, the food was nice but we couldn't really talk because of the screeching coming from all around! I've told OH's Mum that I'm going to take charge of her makeover; she's stuck in a bit of a rut and having only boys in the family doesn't really help with that, they think she looks nice in 'anything' and should should look like a Mum, not woman. Jeez, the poor woman needs me! She seemed quite excited at the prospect, it'll be nice for her to actually enjoy being a girl, she's crying out for it!
Dinner sounds nice Dinah, I'm intrigued by sweet pototo and sweetcorn mash! Mashed sweetcorn???
Exciting stuff for your OH Wendz! He must be bouncing off the walls!

Lol no mashed sweet potato, bit of cream cheese to make it creamy, little bit of nutmeg, and then bung some cooked sweetcorn into it and mix it all together.

It's really easy (well it has to be, I made it up don't have recipies!) but lovely and filling. Plus cos its sweet and creamy it feels like a treat!

Have a headache brewing today, sure it should be home time by now!

I know what you mean Dinah this has been a long week! Might see if I can sneak off a bit early later.

OH is driving me up the wall, when I saw him on Weds he said I'd been 'funny' with him since Sunday in texts, when I haven't, and I text him just now to say good morning and he says it again, like I 'can't be arsed':rolleyes: he's convinced something's wrong with me - and women are supposed to be the ones who read into everything!

Your tea sounds yum Dinah! Will pass the idea onto my mum. Hope your headache doesn't get too bad, this week has dragged though. I've had a whole week of not knowing what day it is. I thought it was Monday when I woke up!

Birdie - That's so nice to give your MiL a (kind of) pamper day! What a pain with the racing ladies though, did they have the big over the top hats?

Tete - OH has moments like that with me. Saying I was being off in texts, so I started calling him instead to stop confusion. And now he says I sound off on the phone!

Just had a call from my sister to ask if I want to go to Old Orleans tonight, she's being awful nice to me lately. She'd already said she's going to buy me some Chanel foundation, and now taking me out for tea. If we were in a relationship I'd think she was going to pop the question.

I don't like texts because you can be fine but forget to put 16 kisses at the end of a text and all of a sudden you're being a mardy cow! Then you get fed up of being told that you're being mardy so you actually get a little short and fall out ensues!
I can't wait until hometime (I feel like I'm waiting for the school bell to ring!), this week has been so long! Next week will be a nightmare; it's stock take so I have to work 6-2 on Friday and Saturday stuck up on a mezzanine floor in the warehouse with The Most Boring Man On Earth, there will be no escape! And to make matters worse, I'm going to see McFly (whoop whoop!) on Friday night so it'll be a super late night and I'll be exhausted on Saturday... and then I have to OH's best friend's birthday party that afternoon! I'm glad I've got the following week off work after all that!
