NIM and I are having an ebay evening tonight, aiming for 30 items, although he's insanely quick at doing them, so might push to a bit more, we'll see.

Can you send him to mine when you're done, I'm insanely slow! Although the last time I did any listing was on the dino-comp so might be quicker on the new one fingers crossed!

I don't know about your bro Dinah, he must be at least 18 so that's not too young to be 'worried' with things like that IMO - it'll be probably be good for him. I've always had a job since I was 15 and to me working after my a-levels was natural, even if he works to earn his summer spending money that could ease things for your parents a bit? Or he could save up for spends at uni and some of his loan could go towards fees? It;s difficult I know but I agree with you about your grandad.

Just looking at hollies, found one in a nice apt £300 in the resort we want in Ibiza, this is the cheapest I've seen this particular hol so have sent the details to OH to look at when he gets back off site and hopefully we can book it today :) I know we could get cheaper in the windows but it's a bit more difficult when you have something in mind that you want :o

Couldn't you ask him to list your ebay items (seeing how you have a shed full!) over summer and offer him a cut of whatever money is left after postage and fees? Would be one less thing for you to do and would make him some money. I really don't know otherwise!
I agree with you about remortaging, it does seem unfair to ask that of your Grandad. Even though your parents don't want your brother to worry maybe they should sit him down and explain how tight everything is. He's going to Uni in September, I think he's old enough to be included in things like that?

Couldn't you do a Phase 2 part 2? We've managed to fill this one so quickly!

Lol I need a new phase!

I think I'll just try to take him aside, or talk to mum and see if she will, and suggest he has 'time off' until they go to Italy in 4 weeks, but when he comes back he really needs to do something.

No way am I paying him to do the ebay items, I did that once, never again. They were in random categories, had no descriptions, wrong pictures, nightmare!

I would agree that sitting him down and explianing the situation is the right thing to do. He is 18 so old enough to understand and help.

I think at 18 your brother is old enough to understand where money comes from and how tight it is for your parents, he must have an inkling already and he should know how much uni costs!
I just took my car to the garage to have the rumbling checked out and the mechanic bloke couldn't find anything wrong, he took it for a drive and said 'It just sounds like a Punto' so now I feel a) stupid and b) paranoid! At least it looks like nothing's going to fall off though so I'll just turn up the radio if I can hear/imagine rumbling!

I have a punto too Birdie. Mine likes to squeak, which is apparently the suspension. It does worry me when they make weird noises though!

It worries me no end Wendz! My first car was a Citroen Saxo and bits kept falling off that when I was out and about so now I'm quite nervous about hearing odd noises!

My car has a bit of loose guarding somewhere under the bonnet and it rattles quite dramatically quite a lot. I'd got used to it but now the weather's warmed up a bit it sounds a lot louder with the window open!

I should be grateful that nothing really is wrong with it, at least nothing is shaking around under the bonnet! My friend's old car used to terrify me; apart from the usual shaking and rattling, the speedometer was a bit temperamental so she would be driving along not having a clue how fast she was going. When she was going down a hill she'd pick up some speed and go flying with no idea that she was going about 80+... and I'd be pressing my feet into the floor looking for the brake pedal! I was so glad when she got a new car!
