Do any of you here sell many books?
I have a pile of books in ok condition and not sure where to sell them or how. I was looking at either Amazon or ebay. If I sell them on ebay I was thinking of selling them in one lot, but that might cost a bit in postage so people would be put off.
Does anyone have any experience of where fiction books sell best?Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I sold lots of books last year, over 700. I would recomend amazon all the way as there are no fees until a book sells, and its really easy to list them. Few people pay much for bulk lots of books, and you'll definitely get more selling in individually.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Dinah, I'll have to list them all. Do they take long to sell? (Obviously that must depend on the book etc, but generally!) Do you just have to keep them in a safe place until they sell, or is there a time limit? Sorry, I'm sure I can find this info somewhere!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Birdie I don't think you know just how spot on you are with my clothes taste! Could you PM me a link for the cupcake top?!Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Hehe, great idea! And I love how Cinny's little one-woman venture is now requiring 'staff'!
I can wear many staff apronsI've roped OH in for my first stall. He's going to woo the old ladies, they do seem attracted to the poor lad, so he can have one too!
Pilchard - Yay to the CC! You'll have it paid off in no time now you don't have any pesky interest to pay.
Poolie - You'll have the new car by now? Hope you're having fun driving aimlessly about!
Zig - Was reading your thread and sounds like you're getting on top of everything now. Good luck with ebay and selling the books!
I think amazon keeps books on for a few months? 90 days is it? Books sell well if you have the lowest price. It can be 1p on some books so you might not make much profit, but it is money you wouldn't of had otherwise. I think it makes it a bit easier if you think about it like that rather than 'I've only made 20p'
Bless OH, he came over to mine tonight with a Laura Ashley bag. He'd bought me a dress, cake stand and some doilies. I think I have a keeper here! Said he wanted to treat me with some of the money he won, and here I was all day thinking he was a tight bum for not offering me any money towards tonights Big Brother launch food.0 -
90 days time limit. I keep mine in a box in the shed. I usually find about 1 in 5 sell within 24 hours, then its fairly steady for 2 or 3 weeks, then it becomes more occassional, but I still have ones selling randomly I listed 6 weeks ago.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ahh Cinny, what a sweetie he sounds. I am going to be watching the launch show in a bit too.
WE have got no water at the moment, don't know why but saw some men down the road fidling with it, what a pain though. Hope it is sorted by later, need a shower and to wash up.0 -
Thanks Cinny
I do feel like I'm getting on top of everything, but I definately need to sort out my spending!
Ok cool, I'll give that a go next week! It's a pile of books that my Nan asked me to take down the charity shop so I figured it's better for me to try and sell them!
P.S Cinny, I like the logo and name ideas for your business venture...good luck with it all!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Thanks for your comments. The new car is going well. She was fully clean and tidy.
Well we got a surprise once all the paperwork was done. OH, who is the registered keeper, was giving some flowers and a teddy bear. Apparently only the extra special customers get the teddy. I think the flowers and teddy were due to the stress of the car scrappage scheme and the muck around that has given us a bit since we ordered the car.
Took the car out tonight, OH drove to the gym, just trying to get used to the clutch and the gear box. We are getting there. I will get a better go tomorrow when I am going out to meet a friend for the afternoon.0 -
Glad you like her Poolie! Will the teddy sit on the dashboard then?
Cinny, that is soo lovely of your OH, and I can imagine the grannies will love him even more in a cupcake apron.
Pilchard - hurrah! Really pleased you got a 0% after Barclaycard said a flat 'nah' - but a £6k limit, what recession?
I'm just doing bits and bobs but I'm getting sucked into BB a bit too tho I might turn it off if that tiny one carries on screeching. Te muslim girl has one of those voices I HATE that just sounds like she needs to clear her throat, ugh.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Yay for getting the car! And how nice to get some little pressies too! Sure you will get used to it soon. Took me a while to get used to mine as my old one only had 4 gears!
Have been watching big brother, looks pretty average so far. I managed to write another review ready to post while i was watching though, so thats one plus!0
