Of course it is Wendz, it's a Friday before a long weekend! Not much at all to do here, sounds good but it's so boring, and there's so much I could be doing at home! Might see if I can get a dooyoo review done this aft.

Thanks for all the info Poolie, I'm always trying to pick your brains about this I know! Might have a tinker with confused or something and out a Fiat 500's details in and see what comes up.

Jacket potato today methinks ... :D

(At first I thought your MS was something to do with the smear - haha, would have to be a good fee to get people to do that!!)

:rotfl: It would have to be about £100 fee or something! It was ok actually, I had a very no-nonsense nurse. Have you seen the Tetley Redbush ads? She's quite like that, '.......ssh you naughty boys!'

Just going to have a sly ER catch-up and then onto the orgy of house cleaning. Is nobody going away apart from Dinah and NIM?

Glad 'it' went ok, the Tetley thing was way over my head though!

Speaking of car insurance I was having a look as ours is due in July. Noticed that I had been making a mistake with the length of time OH had her license. She was on a provisional for 2 years (confidence problem with the test). I had been putting through that she had her license for less than a year which is true for her Full license. Only found out when tried a quote no Norwich Union website and I used their live person chat and they explained it. So with the new information means that with our new car I am estimating our insurance to be about £100->£150 cheaper for next year.

    Anybody use Tesco Car Insurance?

Hey hey hey, I NEVER knew that about the license!! I've been saying I've had mine for 2 years but I've had a provisional since my 17th (3 years...) Anyone else know about this and if it could lower y payment?

I do actually use Tesco Car insurance... I use the Value and its always been really competitive for me, (costs me £600 a year for me (20) and my bf (21) on a 1.6l mini) I know you might think thats extortionate but its because of our ages! (actually only cost £40 to add the boy on :S ) But yeah Tesco, never had a problem with them, but I've never had an accident or anythng (if you know what I mean..?!)
If you want to use Tesco, they do a refferal offer I think, let us know maybe if it gives you the best price because i think if you say a reffers name or policy number or something, you both get £10 tesco voucher or 1000 clubcard points... might be a little bonus!
Ok so i didnt read the rest of the posts before posting and I think you had all this info before! sorry!!!

Tete - When we were looking it actual got to the stage were we needed to compare the old car and a few new cars.

We compared the finance costs for the new cars ie interest rate, deposit (on top of £2000), balloon amounts. We also compared servicing costs for new and old, MOT, repair bills for old car (what work we thought it might need like a new cam belt - £250+), availability for new car, Road fund tax for new and old, insurance quotes, petrol costs (how many miles to tank, how big the tanks were, cost to fill based on 95.9p per litre)

So as you can guess we went into it fully and not just for 1 model of car we did it for 3 or 4 different models of the same car. I think the garage were a bit confused why I was asking for all the finance figures. A lots of the numbers can be got from the brochures and websites.

If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet let me know. All you should need to do is plug in your numbers Tete

tinkerbel - I would phone your insurance company and have a word with them to check how they actually do it.

I only found out because OH is legal owner and it only happens if the legal owner has past their test and have a number of years of no claims discount.

If there is a bonus for referring I can be tempted to look at that as well.

Let me know how you get on with Tescos about the number of years you have been driving would love to know there position as it is going to affect if I go with Tesco or Halifax (Difference is about £60 for the year so not major but better in my pocket!)

Quick question tinkerbel is your insurance fully comp or 3rd party. If your 3rd party you might be cheaper with fully comp. Have found that for the last 2/3 years now.

    Evening everyone

Had a funny day today as I wanted to sort all the correspondence out for the Financial Ombudsman as the Post Office has (yet again) lost our mail and the last letter was never delivered even though it was recorded delivery. Happy, I know you live near me, do you have loads of problems with the post? I used to live in Belle Vue and it was a regular thing that post never got delivered. Here I've had 2 parcels go missing after we weren't in to receive them in the last few months as well as some post and, of course, this letter not being delivered.

Anyway, I digress, so I wanted to print this stuff off but the printer died so I've been and bought a new one (cheaper than trying to get old one fixed) and it cost me less than £49 + I happened to mention to the salesman that my other printer had died and he gave me 3 years warranty, which normally costs £11 for nothing.

Right, peeps, hope you all have a fab weekend xx
