Morning All
Don't worry not been on nights tonight. Wish I had as I have been up since 3am. Went to bed at 11ish with OH.
At least the washing from yesterday is out for the morning sunshine.
In money news, the C1 card balance transfer to the Barclaycard has gone through (as expected), but it has cleared the card without any trailing interest on the C1 statemnt. Job for later today is to call C1 and get them to close the account.
The credit card plan is paying off.
New Car is still due around the 1st week of June. Spoke to the dealership yesterday and they will require OH to sign the V5 document so we can sort out the insurance.
Speaking of car insurance I was having a look as ours is due in July. Noticed that I had been making a mistake with the length of time OH had her license. She was on a provisional for 2 years (confidence problem with the test). I had been putting through that she had her license for less than a year which is true for her Full license. Only found out when tried a quote no Norwich Union website and I used their live person chat and they explained it. So with the new information means that with our new car I am estimating our insurance to be about £100->£150 cheaper for next year.
Anybody use Tesco Car Insurance?
Things to do:
[strike]My MP3 player is due today so going to be busy putting music on that[/strike] - bit slow at loading it but done ready for new car.
[strike]Go to post office and send book which was sold on EBay [/strike]
[Strike]Check Rymans for jiffy bag for package to parents [/strike] - There wasn't anything useful so will be post office again
Get to the Gym!
[STRIKE]Close C1 Card[/STRIKE] - Done - Don't you love call centres that are open 24x7 and can speak english0 -
I've used Tesco car insurance for the past couple of years and they've been great. Also the call centre bods will price match competitors and if you're super cheeky they'll also throw in a £50 gift card as you're a new customer if you tell them you've seen an offer somewhere. If you do take out a policy them you'll also get an "I've been referred" voucher with your policy which can be used immediately to obtain an extra £10 gift card or 1000 clubcard points.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Thanks for the information moo2moo
On top of them being the cheapest - have been through the comparison sites and qudico while looking - they are also giving a bonus of 500 clubcard points if purchased before the end of June.
Our policy is the 1st week in July so will be looking at buying the new policy from the end of June anyway.0 -
Morning,
I was woken up early today as OH was a bit hyper this morning, think it might be because he is handing in his notice at work today as will be starting the police in 5 weeks and he wants to take week off before.
I had tesco insurance a few years ago, was good as far as i can remember. I didn't manage to get any special offers back then though.
Finish work at 4 today yay, as bank holiday weekend0 -
Woke up to some fantastic news, Oscars back!! He's the stray who takes up camp in our garden shed, haven't seen him all winter and I was so worried something bad had happened, but he sashayed his way up the garden path this morning. Will have to go get him some jellied cat food this afternoon. Nice having the old guy back!
Poolie, that's great news about your car insurance, Not long till you get the pretty new car now!
Wendz - Hope all goes well for your OH handing his notice in, not long until he starts with the police though.
Not moved too much into savings this week, I've got my phone bill coming out so I'll move some more over when it's settled after the weekend.
Just printed off the 2 4 1 Pizza Express voucher, will drag OH to boots afterwards to get some healthy..ish snacks for the cinema, we're going to try for 2 films this afternoon. Tormented and Awaydays if I have any say in it!
Hope everyone has a nice day (: Looking forward to this long weekend!0 -
Wow it's busy on here this morning, and full of good news! Great news about Oscar Cinny! Cats are funny creatures, my mam's cat went missing for six whole weeks a couple of years ago, mam was convinced something had happened, but she just turned up in the garden one day as though nothing had happened, fat as ever. Then you have my two who won't even go over the threshold!
Ah Wendz, it's great that OH is handing in his notice, all the cogs are whirring now, how exciting!
Poolie does that mean that you can include your provisional time as time you've had a licence? I've been driving for two years now so I doubt it would make a difference, esp as I'm over 25, but it's useful to know. I'm still umming and ahhing about the scrappage deal. I've had a look on the Fiat site and apparently they offer it on all models, so the 500 would be around £6k ... I'm trying to weigh it up - on one hand I like the fact that my banger is bought and paid for, but a new car would be under warranty if anything went wrong, but the engine is also slightly bigger so petrol costs would go up, as would insurance surely? Augh!
Yay, nearly the weekend! Does anyone have any exciting plans? OH might be going out with work tonight and I'm secretly hoping he does so I can have a snuggly-up night on my own...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I am sure one of my mums cats goes to someone elses to eat, he is a right fatty and my mum has him on a diet. My mums does make me laugh though I rang her wednesday and she asked why i hadn't rang to wish the cats a happy birthday the day before, haha.
Only plan for the weekend so far is going out sat night with some friends in southampton. Driving home tomorrow and also need to try and take laptop back and swap or get money back to buy another as isn't much use having a laptop that has to be reset every couple of weeks.0 -
