hey kayida,

hey kayida,
hope you and bump are ok??0 -
Hi Angie
We're ok, I'm just a bit...unmotivated?to write on here at the moment....probably because alls I can really do is wait around for this baby to be born and theres just too much family mess that I have to deal with too.
I thought having a diary would be a little different, would give me a chance to offload somewhere because I don't have a confidente in the "real world", but I just dont feel comfortable enough.
Seems silly, but I feel like I'm slogging everything by myself. Probably because I am doing it all by myself. And it's just so darned lonely.:(
Update money wise:I'm trying really hard to keep some semblance of control over the accounts, but we've managed to put a load more money on the overdraft:mad:
I havent even finished buying things for the boy (need a carry cot mattress and feeding bottles just off of the top of my head) and I'm trying to find the money for them and it's just not working. Then MOTH orders another takeout, or stuff for the house and I could just cry.
I keep telling him I'm so desperate to move, the situation here is getting worse, but theres no money to move. He just keeps telling me we will sort it out once the boy is born and to have some patience.
In his defence, some of the stuff he has bought is to decorate where we are so that it is tidy and clean, but still, it's hard.
Well, theres my moan for the week.lol.:o0 -
You are having a rotten time of it. Hopefully everything will seem easier when the baby comes.
Can you speak to the housing dept and see if they can help out? How many bedrooms do you have now?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Hey Jen
I'm in a two bed.
I tried speaking to the housing department when my current youngest was born and they were adamant that we were "adequately" housed, even though other people with three children the same sex were being rehoused into three bedroomed proerties left right and centre of me.
Now we are getting conflicting information.
Some are saying that as soon as the baby turns one, we will be automatically entitled to a three bedroom, others are saying it will be when he turns 5 (my oldest girl will be 14 then!!!) and yet more are telling me to try and make this into a three bed house (I wish) and be grateful I've got a roof over my head.
So the baby arriving doesn't really make anything easier, except that some of the health problems I suffer with when pregnant actually clear up lol.
Perhaps it is time to give up on the house move for now and re-evaluate things.0 -
Hi - Local Housing Allowance is payable for private lets. The scheme is across the UK with the rules laid down by Westminster. The thing that changes is the local rates - so a 3 bed house here will pay rent of up to £875 a month. If you live in elsewhere in the UK the rates will change.
The rules are below and under them you are entitled to claim for a 3 bed house now and a 4 bed when your oldest daughter turns 16. You may have to move to the private sector though, so you'd need to save a deposit and a months rent in advance. May be worth biting the bullet because you may find they'll offer plenty to allow you to move into the private sector.
How are the LHA rates set
The rates are set by The Rent Service.
The Rent Service has divided the country into Broad Rental Market Areas (BRMAs), each containing:- a range of properties
- different types of tenancies
- facilities and services such as hospitals, schools and transport
- a range of rents
The size of accommodation needed for your household is taken into account.
It is based on the number of bedrooms that you need. This may not be the same as the number of bedrooms in the accommodation.
The rules say that one bedroom is needed for each of the following:- a couple
- a single adult/young person (over 16)
- two children of the same sex aged 10-15
- two children under the age of 10
- any other child
Example 1. A couple with two children aged 4 and 6 need one bedroom for the couple and one bedroom for two children under 10. They get the two-bedroom rate of LHA.
Example 2. A single adult has a daughter of 8 and a son of 12. They need one bedroom for the single adult and one bedroom for each child. They get the three-bedroom rate of LHA.
Example 3. A couple have two sons of 17 and 13 and a daughter of 15. They need one bedroom for the couple and one bedroom for each child/young person. They get the four-bedroom rate of LHA.
The rates are reviewed every month.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
