Just want to be debt free

I know I'm not updating properly everyday, but we're getting there!
I love lurking on here and seeing how other people do. It keeps me motivated and gives me ideas about how I can do things here at home
The debt is still coming down slowly but surely, made some big payments today, which I'm really pleased about!I really need to sit down with MOTH and sort through the paperwork so that he at least KNOWS that something is happening, even if he immediately forgets the details or doesn't really understand them... :S
On the plus side, I saw the stuff about stardrops, and when I did the online shop today, I found it online!!! I'm so chuffed!
Seems a bit expensive @ £1.60 for 1 litre, but apparently it stretches quite far, and I have some old squirty bottles that I found lurking in the cupboard, so am going to give it a go!0 -
Hi kadiya i've just read through your thread!! Glad to hear at the end of it your debts are coming down! I'll keep following if that's ok hope the sickness has calmed down? xWinging life....0

:hello:
Just found yor diary! Didnt know you were pregnant, how exciting :j Ok, not if your as far gone as i think you are!
Now ive found your diary i will be back!0 -
LOL
Hi KatieIt's nice to meet you
Yes the sickness has calmed down!Reflux on the other hand...bring on the milk!
Hi Angie
Yes, I'm very pregnant now, and it makes me very tired, but things seem to be falling into place quite nicely, especially since Monday, so I'm pretty relaxed with it being close to the end of my pregnancy. Of course, it helps that school breaks up this week!
YAHOO!!! LOL
So, on the debt bustying front, I've paid off another £200 on a catalogue, means things will be tight, but funnily enough, I seem to quite like things when they are tight at the moment. Means I don't have the opportunity to go stupid with money and even MOTH has to have a break in spending! so yay us!
Tried the Stardrops today...OMG!!!
How fantastic is that stuff? Totally deep cleaned my kitchen today and it looks BEAUTIFUL!
I used to use some really expensive products in the kitchen too, cause of MOTH's OCD and it always seemed sooooo greasy, but Stardrops cut through the grease like a hot knife through butter. How impressed am I????
I didn't have to use a lot either, so I think maybe I thought the price was expensive because I was used to using a lot of other products? I'm reckoning so anyway!
I really have to go to bed now, it's a silly time to be awake, especially when I have to be up soon!

Feeling a bit down today.
The council came today and replaced the sink unit that had rotted away...and I just cried and cried and cried afterwards because, although the unit is beautiful, my kitchen looks dreadful for having it there.
Even though there was the decent homes survey, we had to ask them to do it twice, because my kitchen is pretty old and falling apart, but they just said no. I've had to fight for the past two years to get the sink unit done, and even the line manager and the workers don't understand why we havent been allocated a new kitchen...I have three completely different types of unit now, they werent supposed to sort out the sink but felt sorry for us and did it anyway, because it was in such a poor state. There is a big gap between the floor tiles and the kickboard. My kitchen looks terrible.
I am grateful for having the new unit, and I'm grateful for my home, I am lucky to have it, despite the holes in the floorboards, and the sockets that don't work and the drips from the ceiling that keep spreading.
It just brings it back home that if I didn't have the debts that I do, I could afford to move somewhere else, somewhere nice.
I've given up here now. We've tried decorating and trying to make it look nice, but whats the point when my local council just aren't interested in their own homes??
Think I might have a takeout tonight.
*sigh*0 -
Kadiya, thats ****ing awful. The council would crucify me if I did that to a tenant. Pack up and come north...:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0

Thanks Jen
I've tried complaint after complaint after complaint, but they simply aren't interested and just keep fobbing me off.
The plumber is due to arrive next week to try and figure out where this leak is, so that I can finally have my bedroom back, but I sat on the edge of my bed last night, sobbing my heart out, telling MOTH that I'm convinved the plumber wont find anything, or wont bother really trying, so I'll be stuck with this leak until we can afford to move.
As for moving North, it is something we are seriously considering, but arent sure what would happen with MOTH's money...
It would be nice to start somewhere afresh
Anyway, we had a takeout last night, spent less than £20 for all of us, and there was still some left over!
Gave me reflux again and the milk is starting to lose effectiveness so I've ordered a bottle of Gaviscon...but by heck is that stuff expensive!I was going to buy the largest bottle I could find, but it was nearly £8!!!
SO I bought a medium bottle instead. I've only got a couple of weeks left until the boy is born, and then fingers crossed the reflux clears up!
I have family coming to stay soon, which means my food bill will go up again, so I need to make sure I'm prepared for this!
I hope I don't go overdue with this baby. I'm tired now lol0 -
Would the Dr give you a prescription for something to deal with the reflux? Save you spending money when you don't have to.
Why would MOTH's benefit change? It's the same rates and qualifying criteria wherever you are in the UK, isn't it?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -

I dont know, I was told the benefit system worked differently once you got into Scotland,Would your CAB office know anymore about this?
Sorry, that seems a bit garbled, but it's the main reason we avoided moving up that way is because a family member told us we would lose our benefits and have to start all over again. It took us 6 months to get any money for MOTH's condition. I can't manage the strain of going through that again. Just thinking about it makes me panic a little lol.
Hark at me sounding pathetic again.
I'm really not this sad in real life, it's just, when things go wrong around here, they go VERY wrong. Some stuff got thrown up today that has made me feel pretty down and upset.
Just want August to hurry up so I can have this baby and stop being such a hormonal mess!0 -
There is no more leak from the ceiling!!! :j:j:j
Apparently, it was the roofers fault we had a leak to begin with
Don't you just love the way the buck gets passed from one department to another with the council?
At least it's done, and I can sleep without fear of getting wet! WOOT
On a grrrrr note, I have to have a heck of a lot of blood tests done...because NON of my blood tests from the beginning of this pregnancy have been done properly, at all! I'm nearly 38 weeks for goodness sakes! So booking in bloods got refused because they hadn't been done properly...but nobody bothered to do anything about it. 28 week bloods not done properly, so they have to be done again, PLUS the extra lots of bloods I have to have done because of various health things going on with me that didnt get done properly...and nobody bothered to check or get them redone!!!
We are always told, if you don't hear anything, it's fine...I didn't hear anything and it's turned out to be a balls up!!!
I'm so angry!!! Thank goodness my fab new midwife managed to pick up on this though, she is taking me to get the blood tests done today and we will have to cross our fingers that nothing untoward is going on or has happened!
I'm pretty sure this is negligence though!ACK!
On a completely different note!
No spending yesterday, because we were all sick sick sick
Do have to pay out for gas, leccy and bread today though, as the kids went mad on toast this morning!0
