Poundshop for kitchen stuff like kitchen roll and cloths etc and bodycare or semichem for toiletries would def save you money. Semichem have lots of deals to save money aswell.

Morning! Yes as above pound shops have some great bargains for cleaning stuff and also babystuff. I got some lovely bibs, plastic cups and beakers and dvds for my little ones. Once upon a time I was a snob and would have gone somewhere else eg more expensive lol. Now I can't afford it and after having my LBM would never go back. I am happy to live more frugally lol!!. Also well done on the baby clothes packages from ebay. My mum also gets designer bits from the carboot for my youngest for pennies. You said you were expecting number 4 - have you joined the boots baby club? free baby packs and some good savings on nappies and wipes. I saved my points up for stuff at christmas and ended up with £60 in points just through buying nappies and wipes through the year - which I would have bought anyway. Its a bit extra for us and prob with you too it is an expensive time!!!

    Hello everyone :)
Fire Fox: Yes we do have a slow cooker...a teeny tiny thing that isn't really suitable for making family meals.
I have learned that from bitter experience ;)
Yes, there is a lot of prepared and sugary food...I have 5 1/2 weeks left with severe mobility problems, no car and a MOTH who has difficulty even managing to leave the house for basic essentials, never mind a shopping list to BUY food.:o
Otherwise, I'd make use of the wonderful greengrocers we have (best cherries in the world) and the market which is fab for meat/cheese.
And yes, I am well aware of the cost of cleaning stuff, and begrudge having to buy them...some of it is MOTH's OCD over germs and bacteria (even though I have told him hot water and a good squirt of washing up liquid will do) and the rest is for ease of use because...
I have 5 1/2 weeks left until the baby is born
I do appreciate the sentiments though, and while I can promise that so far ALL of the chocolate is still pretty much intact, MOTH's sweeties have been finished :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I have refused to buy him any more on priciple :p

Claire: I don't think we have a semichem round here, it's not something I have heard of

Pinky: I have joined the boots baby club (and the huggies ones, and Emmas diaries and everything else lol) but to be honest, the coupons that they send just don't get used. I don't like pampers or huggies nappies, and don't think they represent very good value when they leak a lot more than Asda's own brand :o
I'm quite lucky that I have a child almost ready for potty training, which means that the amount of small people in my house using nappies will reduce back down to 2 during the day when the boy is born. Otherwise, I was seriously looking into buying terry cloth nappies. I wash daily anyway, so I would never have chance to run low or out.
Unfortunately, even though he recognises the savings in "cost" MOTH likes the convenience of "modern" nappies, especially as for the past goodness knows how long, he has been the main nappy changer in the house.:A Its one thing I can't complain about, he's a star when it comes to the messiest and smelliest of them :T:T:rotfl:

    Hi,

Have you tried using the coupons you get in Tesco against everyday shopping. I saw here that you can basically use any coupons at Tesco (if the barcode starts 99) and they knock them off your shopping, you don't have to buy that product, Tesco just has to sell it. They also honour the big giveaways like spend £30 at Morrisons and get £5 off that the Sun did recently; same conditions, same discount. I now squirrel away coupons for things I'd usually never buy and they quite happily give me dosh off.

Some Tesco's don't like doing it, but I asked at customer services when I went in and they told me they'd honour the scheme and if I had any problems at the checkout just to get the assistant to call them over.

It's nice get a £10 top up shop for half price :D

Can you do that with an online shop?
as that is the only shopping I can actually do right now, and there isn't a tesco very close by either, so online it has to be:o
    Being housebound sucks :(

Has to be in the shops I think. You could save them up and go for a browse courtesy of Mr T when the baby's come. Nice little bit of highly discounted shopping.

Thats a really good idea, might do that instead!
I always thought coupons didn't "keep", KWIM? so it never occured to me to save them up and use them like that:confused:
    Thanks Jen!

Check the dates but lots we had were until end of 2009. Most are for a couple of months. Also have a look at couponnet.com nearer the time as you can print some but they're only valid for a couple of weeks from the time you print.

    Hey Jen :)
I'm not too bad, just really exhausted.
MOTH...well, he IS cooking more, but only because it's now ready meals that he can shove frozen veg next to. Unfortunately, it's making me sick (have had two days of sickness this week) so I think he's panicking now lol
I've got him making me a HUGE salad right now, and I'm having a frasg fruit coctail for afterwards, because I'm hungry and craving fresh food like nobodies business.
Which isn't very good for a NSD, but right now, I don't care. I need fresh! lol
