The thing is, these naughty counterfeiters put their products in packaging that looks just like the real thing!

They are a bit crafty like that.

Just because it doesn't say "This is a Fake" on the packet, doesn't mean you've got the real thing.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

He has always had the genuine product. If it wasn't, well the counterfeiters were selling a remarkable product. It worked like it always has done, but it has always been the genuine product. I'm pretty good at spotting fakes. Funny toothsmith, how the product got pulled, after commenting upon it on this site.

Good counterfeiters make stuff that is very hard to distinguish from the real thing...sometimes they even re-use genuine packaging with new seals. Trouble with buying online is you have no way of knowing just what you will get, and many sites happily boast how their product is FDA approved...but that doesn't mean it's legal for sale here. But hey you get it cheaper so what does it matter if you decay your enamel long term as long as it looks OK for now!

Well if it was last year no. Which put pressure on eBay, google, amazon to stop advertising these sort of products.

If it is illegal to sell something in the UK and Europe is it surprising that vendors sites get regularly pulled as they are breaking the law.

If you have the time try googling wholesaling of crest strips. It's a very profitable business over 90% take up. The problem that's discussed over and over again is the problem of supply. Proctor and gamble won't obviously supply to UK or Europe. Apparently according to the wholesale suppliers there are alot of fakes out there and dodgy wholesale suppliers.
So where do you think the majority of products come from when there is no legitimate way of importing them? Do you think it is all people coming back from the US with strips in their luggage? Not very viable.

I am going on holiday to the states soon so could buy some while I was there so they would be the real thing. Brook2jack and toothsmith, would you say they were ok to use knowing they were the genuine thing.

There is no way that I can give you the OK to use something like that, when I have no idea what your teeth look like, or what fillings are in them, or what condition they're in.

It is a product that is not licensed in the UK.

Use it if you want to - but I will not say it's OK.

    An update:

Enlighten have also tried to contact my dentist but he's currently on holiday. It appears that the practice only uses the gels for whitening but don't offer the full Enlighten treatment. I wanted to an official confirmation from Enlighten so I could go back to my dentist with their reply.

However Enlighten very kindly offered to send some free gels for me to finish whitening, and this morning 3 syringes of gels arrived via recorded delivery! They're the same 5ml 16% CP gel that I'd been using. I am amazed at and very grateful for Enlighten's generosity, I did not expect them to do anything other than contact my dentist!

I'll be using the gels tonight and in the very near future I hope to have a nice new crown like I've always wanted :T

Big thumbs up to Enlighten, this has to be the best ever customer service!

Ok thanks for that. I have spoken to my dentist about getting my teeth whitened and she says my teeth are fine to go ahead with this. It is going to cost me about £300 and thought these might save me some money. Most people say I don't need them doing but I think they would look much nicer if i had them done.

I used them once and my teeth were very sensitive afterwards and they lightened my gums too  . I've been using Arm and Hammer baking soda toothpaste for the past 4 months and have really noticed a difference
