Toothsmith,
Sorry but I believe you are misleading this forum and bringing in politics that does not belong on here.
Firstly go and re-read the link you posted above and you’ll find it reads….
Quote:
“The GDC believes that it is illegal for non-dental professionals to be offering tooth whitening treatment, and that only dentists, and dental hygienists and dental therapists on the prescription of a dentist, can carry out the procedure.” Unquote;
It’s just an opinion of the GDC. That does not make it law.
Quote:
“and levels of training as a dental practice doing it properly.” Unquote;
Properly! There are more complaints about dentists carrying out laser teeth whitening and causing harm/pain than any other form of teeth whitening or laser teeth whitening professionals.
People come to this forum to find out about genuine money saving ideas and when they share their experiences they should not be belittled for their efforts, and especially with inaccurate comments.

Do you trust tooothsmith or money saving whitening pro?.Toothsmith has been of much help in this board and I highly doubt what whitening pro is saying.

I stand by my comments.
The GDC uses 'belives' in the legal sense of the word, not in the 'I believe in faries' sense. They 'believe' it because there is no legal precedent yet.
They have and are successfully closing down illegal practices alongside Trading Standards though, and no-one has had the courage to fight their case in court yet to overturn this 'belief'.
As to number of complaints:-
Firstly, where are the figures to back this up.
Secondly, maybe it's because people CAN complain if something doesn't go to plan at the dentists. We have a professional body, we have professional insurance.
I notice you call yourself a 'tooth whitening professional'. What is your professional organisation called? Who regulates it? What are the qualifications? Chances are if someone does have a complaint agains a beautician, it will just be met with a shrug of the shoulders and a 'whatever'!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Mrembo,
Toothsmith may well have given sound advice in the past, but that does not give Toothsmith the right to rubbish comments from other posters and make inaccurate comments. I did glance at the link you provided….AND!
Toothsmith,
You can stand by your inaccurate statements all you want.

Is that why the number of teeth whitening places have rocketed from 1000 to 3000 in the last 3 years!

The facts can be found at the following site You will then see FACTS in pages and pages of complaints where dentists around the world have blistered patients gums, burnt their lips and left countless of patients with highly sensitive teeth.
Since I’m new here I'm not allowed to post the link so, go to
teethwhiteningreviews. com and search under “zoom teeth whitening system reviews”.
www. teeth whitening reviews .com (No spaces)
.
That’s where you’ll find all the facts to back up my statement 100% that
“.There are more complaints about dentists carrying out laser teeth whitening and causing harm/pain than any other form of teeth whitening or laser teeth whitening professionals”
Finally I didn’t come here to fight, I just wanted to point out your errors and your abrasive style of posting of talking down to people who had contributed.
We specialise in just teeth whitening in West London with two clinics that offer teeth whitening at very competitive prices and are fully insured. If this angers you than why don’t you compete with companies like us by giving people real value for money and a great experience instead of using scare mongering tactics as displayed in your previous posts.
Have a nice evening.

No - that's because Trading Standards and the GDC are overstretched, and more places are opening than can be closed down. It's not criminal, which is why police don't get involved (Like dodgy DVDs being sold at car boot sales) but it IS illegal.MoneySavingWhiteningPro wrote:The facts can be found at the following site You will then see FACTS in pages and pages of complaints where dentists around the world have blistered patients gums, burnt their lips and left countless of patients with highly sensitive teeth.

Do you mean here?

All I can see is an American site (where the rules are different) talking about one system (Which I have told people on this site may not be the best) and about 10 people saying they've had side effects from it.
This is not 'facts' this is hearsay. If you were 'professionally' trained, you would know the difference.
Either way, I would agree with James, the administrator on that site, who states in about post 12Go with the "Gold Standard" in teeth whitening - get custom trays made at your dentist and have him give you bleaching gels for them. This will provide you with the best return on investment.MoneySavingWhiteningPro wrote:We specialise in just teeth whitening in West London with two clinics that offer teeth whitening at very competitive prices and are fully insured.
Would you care to also correct my questioning of your 'professional' status by telling me what training you have done, and what training your average staff member has done in order to be able to offer this 'professional service'?
Who regulates you?
I notice that on the site you recommend, those who have lips swell and gum problems 'went back to their dentist' and were prescribed things, or taken care of.
There is no system of tooth whitening that is totally safe and could not give an adverse reaction to somebody. If one of your clients had a bad reaction, what 'care' would you be qualified to give??
I'm all for 'competition', but do your punters really know how little you really know about what you're doing??How to find a dentist.

On the right hand side of the board is a drop down box, called forum jump. Pick the forum board you want to post a new thread in.
Once you click on it, it will open another page on that board. Then click on "Post a new Thread" at the top left hand corner (Just uner, main site, forum, user CP etc..)I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0 -
Hello!
I got some bleach of a colleagues girlfriend that worked in the dentist.
It is 7.5% Hydrogen Peroxide Daywhite ACP gel. That burned like hell on my gums.
Is the 30% people are talking about hydrogen peroxide? Thats heavy!
Mine didnt get that much whiter and I bleached them for about an hour every day for about two weeks.
I remember reading something online where a celebrity dentist was talking about bleaching and she said that if you bleach them too often it can change the make up of the enamel? Or something like that? Is that true?
How does it change it?
Also, how many times would I be able to bleach them as a maximum?
Should I bleach them no more than 5 times a week - every couple of months for an hour at a time with the concentration strength gel mentioned?
Any advice or information appreciated. Thanks0 -
so there's all this arguing, my partner and i are thinking of booking at sunset this weekend, so what's the verdict on this place???0
