Yes I know, I have been meaning to do it for ages and do half hearted attempts at it, but really need to do it properly now.

Bank acc checked and wasn't too frightening, but when I spend more money it will be lol.

We're going to have a nice lunch of left over pork and salad, then go for a walk this morning to a nearby country park that we are lucky enough to have almost on our doorstep.

    All free :)

Glad your task of checking the old bank account wasn't too scary! Hope you enjoyed your day out together.
We had pork chops tonight for tea (from Tesco), they were actually very nice, but they were from Denmark!!!! I bet we export our piggies and then the supermarkets import others. Absolutely crazy.
  • Hi Yukkibear, just passing through... hope you had a good, free afternoon at the park!

I have to say our pork tastes much better and is a different colour than any we have bought before. So nice.

We had a nice afternoon, didn't stay too long but dd walked some of the way so took us ages lol. Worn out now, so chilling and thinking of some ways to make some more cash.

Oh and resisted going to buy beer today :j:j Might buy some on thursday but then it'll come out of the shopping budget not my poorly account lol
  • Ahhh your DD will sleep well tonight if she was out walking in the fresh air!! Did you get her settled into her big bed, does she like it?

My little one had her first day at her childminders today so she is completely crashed out - she was quite happy there tho, so I'm glad she wasn't screaming the first day I left her there. Its only literally 2 minutes from where I work anyway, so I could be there in minutes if she needed me.

Well done on resisting buying beer today :rotfl: we were naughty and bought a bottle of mateus rose with our food shop so will probably save it for the weekend... nice treat plus I'll probably need it now that I'm working 5 days again!

  • hi yukkibear, just wanted to say that I am inspired by your progress - makes me feel slightly shamefaced at how slow I am to pay things off! I've been meal planning for about 3 months and Mr Vodka reckons we are saving £25 a week in the supermarket by doing so.....and I've not left him feeling too 'deprived' of his favourites.....we could try harder!! Good luck.

Sounds like you had a great free day out.

I can't remember the last time I cooked pork. Maybe when I allow myself near a supermarket I'll get some and steal some recipe ideas for you!

Glad you had a nice walk and sounds like the pork is good too! Sometimes we get kebab sticks and make little pork kebabs with bits of veg put on as well, is really nice.

CWC - yes dd is very happy in her big bed. She doesn't always go straight to sleep but the gate on her room stops her coming out and she NEVER cries now when we say good night which is great.
Glad your dd enjoys the childminders, it's a weight off your mind when they are happy.

Wendz - thanks for the kebab idea, might have to do that

Jellie - Not sure I have any recipes worth stealing at the mo lol, but might soon when we start eating more pork, so far it's just been a large roast.

Vodka - Thanks for popping by. Even £25 a week saved is a great addition to the spare cash in the budget. I would love to save that much. Will be happy at any reduction next month. Don't worry about how slowly etc you're paying the debts off, they are being paid off and that's the main thing.

In a couple of weeks I'm sure you'll have tried out every available pork recipe :D

Maybe a roast would be a good place to start- I like the idea of crackling!
