Been doing that for about a year now - but have found recently that Asda seem to have less 'whoopsie bargains' these days.

Perhaps they're getting better at ordering less 'fresh' stuff and therefore less wastage.

Or maybe it's that more and more folks are also looking for the whoopsies and beating me to them :D.

    Hi felicity,

We have a recent thread on the best time to pick up supermarket reductions that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

  • OK i take it this refers to reduced items!
Does each supermarket chain reduce thair items at the same time of day in all their stores or is it at the discretion of the management?
Where abouts do you normally find the reduced stuff? I tend not to spend too much time in the supermarket generally since that only enourages me to spend more money
It's easier for me to shop during the day as I am on maternity leave at the mo and to shop of an evening is a bit of a hassle but might be worth it if anything decent was reduced.

  • HiBB  I'll add this to the existing thread on supermarket reductions. FWIW, they're very rare in my area

  • That's what I am beginning to think. What i've seen in Mr T's its mostly the organic meat which isn't that cheap after it's been reduced......
