Hi owens,
There's an earlier thread that may help so I've added your question to it. It's also worth looking at Martin's article on supermarket shopping where he gives a guide on secret reduction policies.

Hi Owens, I think it might depend a bit what hours your local supermarket is open.
My local Tesco reduces stuff from 5.30pm but as it is quite a big branch, most of it isn't out til 7pm. I usually shop at around 8pm in the evening and often get bargains. They're also put out all day on Sunday and there are usually more of them too.
Because the price of wheat has increased so much over the last few months, far more fancy bread seems to be reduced and I have been getting mine this way, slicing it up and freezing it. (I'm not a home breadmaker.)0 -
does fresh bread feeze well ? or does it seem a bit hard once u deforst it ?

Fresh bread freezes very well. If it's sliced just remove the number of slices you think will do for a day. I don't like to keep thawed bread for more than a day, but even then you can always toast it.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

This is the policy for the coop (which i am employee of)
25% at about 10am,
50% at about 2pm
75% at about 5-6pm
but please dont go in and nag the staff to see if things are reduced - its not very nice and messes up the system we have to do it in!!! (and also if the man who continously hits me with his crutch to ask me if somethings reduced -       im likely to stick that crutch where the sun dont shine soon!!!!)
Although if there any nice MSErs who live near me ill gladly reduce it sharpish!!Time to find me again0 -

My Tesco (Tesco Metro in Rowland Gill) has been having stuff reduced to 75% when I drop in at 5 after work now. I made a surprised face at this to my checkout lady last week, and she said they're reducing it as soon as new stuff comes in now.0

hi chicky
No things that have the next days date on will be half price but anything that is ment to be reduced/wasted that day will have been reduced down to 20p ish mark. Unless your coop is really good and simply has no waste - ours seems to be a bit off with stock rotation so there is always a fair bit of reduced stuff.
