Not sure whether this counts as good news or bad! I've got a job interview on Tuesday for a job I really, really want. I'm thrilled that I've got an interview but it's going to cost a fortune - I need a new pair of shoes, will have to get my hair cut and had to get my suit cleaned using the express service so that it'll be ready in time (£23  One of the 'joys' of living in a posh area). I've also got to give a 10 min Powerpoint presentation to pitch an idea for a project. This isn't something I've done before so am a bit nervous. Fingers crossed that I get the job and that they offer a reasonable salary.

:grouphug: Have you considered claiming travel expenses to the interview to help with the costs? I used to be an HR Manager for a large company and was often requested to pay travel expsenses for candidates who had to come a long way. I was always willing to pay for candidates who had not been successful but had made the effort to attend. Obviously, I wouldn't ask for payment if you are successful (it may be deemed as cheeky) but it might be worth a quick call to find out if you can claim.

Don't worry about the power point presentation, just be very well prepared, stick to the time limit, don't waffle, don't make it too fancy with animations etc, just straightforward and to the point. Practice, Practice, Practice! Also, have a back up plan in case the IT goes wrong (even if it isn't your fault). Always have handouts of the screens printed (go to print page and look at the options) and possibly take Over Head Projector slides as a back up. Good Luck with the interview

Luckily the HR dept has already offered to pay my train fare and b&b - just as well, the interview's at the other end of the country! I've resisted the temptation to buy LK Bennett shoes and a new handbag - went to Debenhams for the shoes and am not getting a new bag. It's my dream job so I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed.

Good luck with the job nabowla :)
My good news for today is:-
I found $45 US Dollars last night and went to the Post Office and changed them up today for 23 pounds (have put 20 pounds in my money pot for rainy days)
One of our suppliers sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers for sending them an order quickly on Wednesday
And my mum announced that my Dad is thinking of giving me, my sister and two brothers 500 pounds each, which will be paid off my extortionate Halifax CC, so all in all a very good day :)
Hope you all have a great weekend :):)

I earned £40 doing a bit of babysitting and ironing. Registered with Amazon to sell some 'health' books, listed 3 (thought it was worth a try if nothing else!) and within 30 minutes of listing them one had sold!! Earned me £6.35 - not a lot but great for a book that cost me nothing in the first place. So £40 will pay for me and friend to go to bingo tomorrow night (my birthday treat for her) and DD hair cut on Tuesday :D
  • I got a BIG PAY RISE this week. :D

that'll get these debts down quicker.

I am gonna re-do my signature later.

    The sun is shining too!

    Have a nice day all.

Well done novice money saver. My good news for today is that I had my cheque through from greasy palm cashback site. Total of £70 which means my son's birthday present and party are paid for this month.

My good news is I've got a job interview on Monday, for a job which is on grade higher and 5 hours more a week, which will make a big difference to my paycheck if I get it.
