Well, I've had some good news over the past couple of days
On Saturday my brother gave me a belated birthday present of £20, then later in the day my mum gave me £20 as she thought I didn't have any money (I do, but not much), so that means for the next two months I can waive my £20 allowance and spend an extra £20 per month on debts, yay...!!
On Sunday I was looking thru some old paperwork and discovered that Studio owe me £17 so I phoned them up and asked them for a refund, which I should receive this week
And I've got £25 cashback to come back from Kays, which will pay for my mums, grans and brothers birthday presents, double yay....!!
And today, OH phoned me to say that we can now claim for our Labradors hydrotherapy on our Pet Insurance, back dated to January, that's £240 coming our way, he has bad hips and has to go every fortnight, not that it stops him from being naughty...... Triple Yay...!!!
Light bulb moment 18/03/06 Total Debt at light bulb moment approx £40k
Total Debt now £29,973.82 :j
Snowball date Dec 2010, but hope to clear by June 2010 if not sooner.....

Well done, and keep the faith. Those debts are bustable. I am struggling with my banks unreasonable bank charges, actually putting me in to debt at the moment. I won't let them get away with it for much longer.
I've joined the Bank Action Group through this site and you could say , matters are in hand!
When I get a little bit more positive I too will list my debts and post them here.

Dear D&DD
Lots of good things have happened in the past week, so I thought I'd list them to hopefully give others encouragement.
(1) Having reached the big 60 I can now travel on local buses after 9am for FREE! This will not only save me fuel plus wear and tear on the car but also car park fees which are astronomical where I live.
(2) Someone told me that winter fuel allowances are available to over-60s, but I thought they were mistaken. Then I saw an ad on a notice board at Sainsbury's giving a number to ring for more info. It now turns out that at the end of this year I will be paid a £200 heating allowance, which will cover most if not all of my Christmas gifts.
(3) Yesterday I paid in £20 which represented the first set of ten £2 coins I've saved; tonight I gave a talk locally and the cheque I received will also go in to the bank.
(4) On Saturday (April 1st) I received my brand new 0% NSPCC/Bank Of Scotland credit card with a no-fee credit transfer so I transferred £3.6k from a MBNA card where I was paying 1.9% p.a. until July when it would have become 15.9% p.a. Now it's down to 0% on the new card until December 1st so (a) I don't have to pay it off on July 1st and (b) can therefore keep my savings earning interest for another 5 months before paying off the debt.
What a great way to end the Tax Year - and April is the start of the annual pay rise at work! I'm SOOO grateful to Martin for this wonderful site. Initial Debt = £9,700 (at 15.9%)
Net Debt at April 4 = [£9,680 (0%) less £2,905 (4.5%)] = £6,775
:jDebt-free Date = 25 December 2006:j£2.00 Coin Savers Club = £30 (of which £20 banked)

Sorry, meant to say I transferred £4.7k instead of £3.7k - an even better result! Initial Debt = £9,700 (at 15.9%)

Whoopie!!! Today I received my £50.00 from the Alliance and Leicester for being referred by my dad for a current account (he got his £50.00 too) and £100.00 for taking Barclays for a ride! My husband got £100.00 from Barclays too! Feels so good to be paid money from banks (especially Barclays!) Not in credit card debt, but we are struggling with our mortgage repayments and this £250.00 will really help towards taking our children on holiday this year. Brilliant! Thanks to all money savers for a great site - and thanks to the Big M for his advice! Can't wait for Wednesday's to get the email! Looneyleo0

I accepted the offer for endowment compensation today so will be watching my account till it goes in £1150.00 :j . Becasue I see this as house money and I havent spent any money on my house in ages - I have a very big list of things to do
need new carpets upstairs, leaking toilet, broken garage door, wardrobe for me, shower leaking - dont think it would stretch far enough for a new conservatory though LOL
