I've just received my cheque from my endowment company for £2670 compensation. So I will be able to pay off some of my debt although not all of it but it's a start.

My refund from the Inland Revenue came this morning, and that coupled with eBay money, and my 'spare' money this month means I have just been able to pay an extra £595 off of my debt! :j

Quite a bit of good news this weekend:

    1. Got car insurance renewal at £203, contacted Admiral Insurance (who OH is with) and they quoted me £155! So I changed immediately!

    2. OH and I sold our tent to his uncle for £100!! Woo hoo!

    3. Also, it was was OH's parents 40th Wedding Anniversary party and there was far too much food left over at the end, so that's our packed lunches sorted out for a few days, plus chicken for a curry, plus more chicken and salmon that's gone in the freezer! Free food - brilliant!

Just been reading through this thread & it is very refreshing & motivating to hear people's good news!! It might only be something small, but it definately helps in keeping positive. You are all doing so well!! I wish I discovered this site years ago to be honest!!

I should be able to throw a further £250 into my Travel Fund this month due to some ebay sales, extra shift at 2nd job - so yippee!!

I am so obsessed with round numbers though, I dont like paying odds & ends into my savings (although I know they all add up!!).

    xx

My good news for today is that I have been an Avon Rep now for 2 weeks. Today I had to put my order in and my commission will be just over £96. Not bad for about 3 hours work each week. That should go down the more regular customers I have. Now to start on the next brochure, and to make more money.

I am having a very good day :D

It was 5 years yesterday since I started my work here - and to celebrate one of the guys (I only work with 2!) bought me a beautiful easter egg and took me out for lunch. So today my boss took us to the best restaurant in town and bought lunch AND gave me a card thanking me for the last 5 years and gave me a voucher for £20 of flowers - how nice is that?

2 days of not having to take in lunch and knowing I have a great boss & great job - I couldn't ask for more (apart from a pay rise of course :o )

but its not signed and sealed yet.

I spoke to the receiver today re the money I paid to my ex employer and they have finally received confirmation from the bank concerned that the money did go into the company's account and he can see no reason why I should have the money returned to me by the end of the week.

But I'm still crossing fingers until I get the money in my sticky mitts!
