Morning All
:beer:Happy 39th (how many times lol) Birthday Stef:beer: camping trip sound idyllic.
Thriftlady - teenagers seem to be the most selfish beings on the planet, I do vaguely remember a Dr Winston programme about them though & I must admit I thought at the time - poor things puberty drives you mad etc - however now i have one she spends all her time driving me mad lol.
Lovely day here again, will jump in the shower in a mo and then spend a couple of hours in the office. Will finish the small ironing pile & put more washing on the line to dry. Seedlings to go outside - dont talk to them though& will check on the menu plan to see whats for dinner. If have time will do some baking.
Dogs are being picked up by MIL later today as OH is concreting weekend so we are having a week with no dogs. It will be nice to wash the kitchen floor & it to stay clean for more than 5 minutes.
Thanks to everyone for the good luck wishes for OH, I am pleased to say he passed :jso much relief in the Essex house. Would have been another 3 weeks before he could rebook & would have been another £38 too so so glad he did it.
Off now for another coffee before getting dressed, have a lovely day.

They were playing a game together and ds1 was losing. He is an appallingly bad loser and got very abusive towards ds2 who in turn started swearing at ds1 (bad swearing). Ds1 ended up punching ds2. The result was that they were both sent to bed really early and OH has taken the power source thingy for the wii to work with him:rolleyes:
Anyway ds1 is fine with all of this, he gets over things quickly and has a philosophical outlook on life. Ds2 is consumed with the injustice (as he sees it) of the situation and has sent everyone to Coventry, even dd who was in bed at the time of the incident.
OH thinks we need to get a book on disciplining teenagers:rolleyes:. I don't think we do, I think we managed the situation perfectly well. They've both learnt their lessonit isn't as if we have these problems often.
I wonder if ds2 will have forgotten all about it by the time he comes home or whether some other terrible injustice will have happened to him at school to compound his misery. Our DS2 is very good at finding injustices in the smallest of things too and also will on occasion come home from school with extra misery to add to his woes. I try very hard to remember back to when I was that age & felt the same but it doesn't always help :rotfl: You handled it perfectly btw :T

Morning all
Happy Birthday stef, 39 suits you, I'd stay there a few years more:bdaycake:
Well, just racing through, had to wish stef a Happy Birthday, but it's my DH's birthday too. He thought for years the flags were for him :rotfl: Anyway, we're off up to London for the day, so no OS, so I'd best take my leave
Have good days, (hugs) to the poorlies.
Just had to edit. It's just refreshed and I see Martin in his wig. That's one way to avoid complaints about wearing the wrong helmet :rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning all, sunny but cooler here today. Not much planned for today, bit of bathroom cleaning, and tidying.I've not been making any bread as we are low carbing and the smell is just too tempting, nor baking, cooking rice, pots etc at tea and I've def got more time on my hands/at a loose end.Still we are losing weight which is the aim.
Expensive day yesterday as the van packed up when DH and DS2 were picking up some stuff. They looked at the engine to see power steering fluid leaking all over, luckily they were on an industrial unit and there was a garage opposite who fixed it for them by mid afternoon but they are a days work down.To cap the 'bad vehicle' day when they got back something was going on the car so they dropped that off once they had picked the van back up.
I went into town for DS1s girls birthday pressie-she wanted make up so got a 3 for 2 at Boots.Need to make her a card yet.
Salad(again) for tea.I've been making a lot of coleslaw which has been going down well with DS2,amazing...he mustnt realise its made with raw cabbage ,ha ha.
Sunnyday, our dog is a Mastiff, which sounds and looks a bit fearsome, but he has the gentlest eyes and expression, is great with kids and very soppy with us-the only downside is the slobber, and the fact he can yank me off my feet if he sees another dog, just excited tho,not nasty(Didnt get socialised by previous owner- locked in his crate ..)We have a path round the house which is lower than the garden,if I am on it he like to stand on the garden so our heads are level,he puts his on my shoulder and we have a cuddle,so I was thinking of you and yours when we did this last night.Give him a cuddle from me.
Powie -special hugs to you too.
Sunnygirl- hope your Dad gets on ok today.
Happy Birthday Stef-hope you have a good day,and a peaceful weekend-sounds great.
Make the most of the weather, sounds unsettled next week.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Don't want to depress you, but my DS2 is still like this at 21, but he is slowly growing out of it!0 -
Morning all,
I've had DGS all day today. He got a reaction from one of his needles on Tuesday. His arm was very red & swollen last night. Lot better today but he's nursing it along. Been a pretty hectic day. I'm just off to pack. I'm going away tomorrow but will be back Saturday. I washed my hair earlier so at least that's done.Have to up just after 4am tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll be able to nap on the bus.
Stef Hope you have a happy birthday
CMEnjoy your day in London.
Powie <hugs>
<hugs> to those not well & I'll catch up with you on Monday. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
