Why was IMMMIGRATION ignored in the budget>?

It is simple - unless they are going to adopt our ways then they should nt come.
and what, exactly, are "our" ways. some brits like the queen. some would like to get rid of the monarchy. some brits are religious. some are christian. some are muslim. some are atheist. some brits are law abiding. others are criminals including murderers, rapists, child abusers. some brits are moderate in their views. some brits are inspired by extreme ideologies and like terrorizing and killing their fellow humans (david copeland the london nail bomber for example).
so there are no "our ways" for them to adopt. brits, like immigrants, are a diverse bunch. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

After reading this thread I wouldn't be surprised if we don't end up with civil war between communities given the strength of peoples arguements and anger vented as soon as somebody mentioned immigration.
In my experience the people who tend to raise this issue don't take long to move onto - introducing the BNP'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Exactly, giving money to the wrong people, rewarding non contributors, deniying those born english and who pay tax their entire working life, allowing immigrants to blatently break the law (by preaching hate) while supporting them with tax payers money....these are the points i am making, nothing to do with race, nor do i state, or for that matter beleive that abu hamza is representive of all, or even most, british muslims or imigrants as a whole.
This thread is not about the indiviual immigrants as people but the fact that we have allowed too many immigrants into a small country and simply can not afford to sustain such levels of immigration and it's about time the government stood up, without fear of being branded racist, and said, we have done all we can, we must now concentrate on the needs of our own people, that includes anyone born in the u.k, black, white, asian, chinese and of any religion.
When people say "immigrant" there are always people ready to attach that word to one ethnic group and then cry racism, an imigrant is not a black person, or a muslim, or an asian, an immigrant is a person not born in the U.K and many immigrants are white.
For example i also oppose the influx of white, polish and eastern european workers who have been allowed to flood into the u.k taking jobs for lower pay when we have uk residents here out of work who are qualified to do the very same jobs they are doing, anyone in the building trade will know what i mean.
So rest assured, my objections to immigration in this country are political and based on the effects on our economy, national safety, and the effects on jobs. Nothing to do with race or religion.0 -
well you have to look at it both ways and if it applies for one then for all.Any responses about immigration can be used to look like racist rant , but whether we like it or not emmigration and immigration always happens.
I always find it hysterical around the expat communties in spain that they complain about the immigrants arriving in the uk like stereotypical bigots and dont see the irony.Even folk that moved there decades ago still think uk should bail them out after a land grab.
Those that export themselves from the uk should be able to recieve absolutely nothing at all from it afterwards , after claiming their new nationality its then that country's responsibility. This includes pensions(state) , nhs treatment and benefits.
Immigration to the uk should be on an ad hoc and bonded basis and just like australia's system of points. If we have shortages in a particular work sector then ok yes bonus points for applicant , no job training then minus points etc.But they should retest and at least partially retrain ie doctors , teachers , builders etc to the uk standards to prove the qualifications are at least up to our shoddy ones.
The benefits and nhs system should not be accessed at all by any immigrants but instead funded by the immigration applicants purchasing private insurances from our govt.Entitlement to remain here linked to length of stay bonds that are unredeemable until true nationalisation has happened years later.
Lastly any immigrant that enters illegally should be deported imeadiately , all immigration should be done through a local embassy nothing else , and charged to ensure both bonds and insurances are met and legit before they get on a plane.Applicants that arrive and drop off the radar should have no right of appeal but rather are deported straight away and loss of bonds.
I see this as the only way to appease both sides , without allowing either to benefit more than the other.Have you tried turning it off and on again?0 -

fyi it's an email thing that some of the younger generation and those in fast paced communications jobs are using these days.....language is evolutionary. email (and related communications such as forums) being a written form of spoken speech has developed its own conventions. i know lots of other people that do the same. it's a way of saving time when communicating through a keyboard. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

Just for the record, i think the BNP are the biggest bunch of idiots i have ever come accross and the day they gain any kind of control over this country's government is they day i will pack up my bags and leave for afghanistan to build the first christian church on muslim soil and open an irish pub, in other words, commit suicide.0 -
I would like to know who all these immigrants are who are getting benefits. I am an immigrant myself, I entered the country legally and my stay here has always been legal. My husband is brittish (born and lived here his whole life), and my son is also brittish(born here and has a brittish passport through his dad). We do not get a single penny from the goverment (not even child tax credit). I have workered and paid taxes since arriving here my husband has worked since the age of 14. So how about the goverment stand up for the rights of my brittish son and let him have a child trust fund that we can pay into for his future and stop punishing him for the fact that I am not from this country.
And also how about the fact that my current leave to reamain expires in 2 months and I need to re-apply. If I am not allowed to stay it would leave my son without a mother and my husband alone to raise his son. My husband would then not be able to carry on with his job as it invloves alot so would have to resign and would that be fully dependent on the state. Me meanwhile could not see the point of living anymore without my son or husband.Exactly, giving money to the wrong people, rewarding non contributors, deniying those born english and who pay tax their entire working life, allowing immigrants to blatently break the law (by preaching hate) while supporting them with tax payers money....these are the points i am making, nothing to do with race, nor do i state, or for that matter beleive that abu hamza is representive of all, or even most, british muslims or imigrants as a whole.

The points system only works for work permits. Australia also have alot more compassion for family visas which the UK does not. For example the UK married partner visa application does not even ask if you have children together where as the australian does. So it would not solve all immigration problems.
One thing that australia does have on its applications that they should introduce is the australian citizen of the partner has to sign a decleration that if thier partner claims any benefits that they are not entitled to than the australian citizen is finacially responsible.chopperharris wrote: »Immigration to the uk should be on an ad hoc and bonded basis and just like australia's system of points. If we have shortages in a particular work sector then ok yes bonus points for applicant , no job training then minus points etc.But they should retest and at least partially retrain ie doctors , teachers , builders etc to the uk standards to prove the qualifications are at least up to our shoddy ones.
