LOL, thanks misskool. I only read genetics as a very small part of my undergrad degree, long time ago now, and to be honest found the simpler stuff easier, but the more complex stuff ...not for my brain. Coat colour gentics in particular I find very confusing (a genetisist chum drew up a great chart for the more complex for me which I couldn't even e=rememebr when my brain worked). Of course, the confusion also is that the ''american colour words'' are different to ours in many cases, but undeniably more comprehensive. I hope to see a brindle horse in the flesh before I leave the world, and if I had been able to put my mare in foal this year I was going for a wonder ful cross, (not based on colour) which gave me a 75% chance of having one of two very unusual coat colours.

Just a thought in passing ... thinking of "memes" in that same context of "pockets" - in this case pockets of ideas - whether cultural, religious, political, etc etc - which remain unexposed to challenge by wider knowledge or different forms of understanding, and which can lead to a narrow and often unyielding perspective, particularly an unwillingness to accept what is seen as alien - perhaps in some ways illustrated in this very thread.

Now I'm told I'm 2/3rds Irish ( Come to think of it as a teenager I grew a beard and it came out very red tinged, a genetic marker for "Irishness", so perhaps the theory has some truth in it?)

However in an unsustainable country in what might well be an unsustainable world, I ask if an "open borders" policy would make this one look like a model village; compared with what would happen round our towns?

Nope, it hasn't. It has, however, been firmly establihsed on many occasions that you're a racist.

I'd also point out that your spelling, typos, English language skills and grammar seem to fluctuate between the ridiculous and the sublime. Sometimes you're quite eloquent and sometimes you're comparable to a 5 year old. Topov also has this trait, as do a few other Sock Puppets. I only say the truth, which is that if his party got in, in my opinion it would inevitably lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths. And that, because he supports it, knowingly or not he suports a party that would murder innocent people. And because of this he is abhorant to me.

And, while we are discuss immigrants, remember that most of the original Anglo-Saxons were illegal immigrants (See Bede, King Vortigern & wanting cheap mercenaries against the Danes, 5th century AD).
