its quite handy infact, a lot of major news stories have been reported on twitter first such as the hudson plane landing that story broke out over twitter first.
Its also good to see what is happening in your area, or if u want a bit of info u can tweet and im sure someone will get back to u.

It's almost as useless as this thread really, pointless topic, which could be answered by visiting the site, or running the most simple of Google searches.

I wonder if the person who thinks it's "creepy" reads newspapers or magazines - gosh reading about celebs, that's akin to being a stalker...

If you like it, use it and read, if you don't, well - don't. But the "coolness" of Twitter is long gone, it's mainstream now, people have moved on.

Anyone know what the Internet is, I'm a bit baffled? Is it something I should get into, or should I have my own mind?

my impression is it is very much like msn messenger. you can chat with people. the difference is you can leave a message for someone and they may not reply until they are online. so it is like a merging of email, texting and msn messenger really. there are famous people on there. so search for your favourite actor or singer etc you never know they maybe on there.

If I told you it wouldn't be cool would it?! It's all about being underground, as soon as anything hits/becomes mainstream, the hip move on. AudioBoo is definitely there at the moment, although not what I'd call underground.

Perhaps it is the word "following" that I find creepy, and the concept therein implied.
I don't read about celebs, don't use Facebook, Bebo or any of those things but thought I would try twitter.

Tried it, didn't like it moved on.
