can someone please confirm if the system has a tv-out port?
check it physically and then please confirm0 -
I went into my local PCWorld and tried to look for one on display (didnt want to phone and give them the opportunity to discover the bargain and then say they hadnt got them and keep it for themselves) and couldnt find them. I went up to the till and asked the lady if she would be able to check stock if i gave her the product code which she did and it came up with one in stock which was the display model. She said to go and find a sales assistant and they would find it for me. I found someone who looked about and then i see him say something to another salesman and then he went and checked on another system at the rear of the store. He told me that although it said there was one in stock they hadnt got any and the system was wrong.
So knowing what i did about them getting their hands on them i said well if its gone missing would it be worth phoning head office but he said no as the system gets it wrong sometimes.
Anyway came away empty handed, although i did have a good look around on the boxes under the displays to try and find the 1517 model on the box. There were plenty of 1519.
Oh well could really have done with this as well as my system has died and ive been trying the last 2 days to sort it out but cant. Im doing this from the laptop but the desktop system gets used by all for games etc.0 -

Has anyone other PC world managers and PC world staff managed to get one? I doubt it. But looks a very good deal and I would have gone out to PC world if I saw this earlier. I might go tomorrow armed with the PC world site printout.... Although from what OP said looks like Leeds Centre, Leeds Beeston Ring Road and Bradford Forster Square are likely to be out of stock if nearest quoted was Hull.
The spec says TV out on the PCI express card?!
To anyone who has tried to get this and the manager has said it was broken...
I suggest calling PC world directly to complain about the store managers. Tell them they were clearly witholding stock and you believe this is unacceptable and intend not to shop at PC world again or something like that.
You of course cannot prove the item was not broken, but if PC world investigate it using their system they will either see that a) the store manager bought it themselves or b) it was put down as damaged stock and either disposed of or sold appropriately. This is where the managers are likely to be proven liars. So complain, be persistent and insist they check the stock system for that store. If PC world take the complaint seriously the manager may even be reprimanded or sacked (wishful thinking). The managers don't expect you to complain, so I suggest you do.
Also perhaps try watchdog. If they get enough people complaining about this, they may make a bit on it and approach PC world to ask about this issue.
I've bought this and cannot see a tv out port. I did not get a mouse or recovery disk?? Should this system be incomplete?something missing0 -

Consider the system a bargain for the price paid in terms of if you bought the cpu, memory and hard disk etc separate. You wouldn't be able to get them cheaper from https://www.ebuyer.com
The reason you probably can't see a TV out is you are missing a cable for the video card.0 -
I think it has an ATI integrated graphics card, which uses shared memory. If you're a power gamer you may want to think twice about this one or bare in mind a graphics card upgrade may be in order.
Still a very good deal.0 -

On the 'start-up guide' paper, it shows there is a tv out port on the card in slot 1..., yet that slot is blanked out on my pc?
I've got a office xp professional cd case with no cd inside?
There's no mouse or recovery disk.... my question is, should I expect this even though the manager said my package was brand new?something missing0 -
All 3, currys, dixon and pcworld are showing no stock atm....

Anyone here been to the PCWorld at Bath?0 -
I dont think you get the XP cd with new computers and the recovery disks usually have to be burned from the system when you start it0
