Yeah, but the name Packard Bell still should still send a shiver down anybody's spine.....but as was said earlier...buy it and strip it for the parts...i'm sure PB don't really expect it to be bought for much else !
I dont want it, but it's a price marker so thanks.

I won’t even touch my fingers on a Packard not even my life time or cheap bad made pc's bad as tiny and I am surprise they still not gone bust!!!.

I found them to be pretty good, I had my first for 5 or 6 years and it was still going....just a bit slow compared to others by then! I only replaced it with a different make because this make had an offer on the monitors at the time
  • I viewed - I read it and it didnt interest me - didnt want to buy.

Why would I want to thank?

    Defeats the object doesnt it?

If you felt able to offer only a selfish & cynical comment, oh tired one, perhaps you should have had an early night?

Thanks OP. Hope you don't find it as difficult as I do to ignore unhelpful comments.

Thanks DC. I've tried Truro and Plymouth, but no stock. Ah well, it's a bargain in my book.

    This is an embarrasing quote:

Well, I viewed - I read it and it didnt interest me - didnt want to buy HOWEVER I APPRECIATED THE TIME AND EFFORT THE PERSON PUT INTO THE POST AND THE FACT THAT THIS WOULD BE OF INTEREST TO OTHERS!!!!!!!!

So you thank on the grounds that they made the effort. So EVERYBODY should thank ever post according to you. How on earth does that work?
Secondly... caps lock just shows that you struggle to put your viewpoint across powerfully using language.

People then complain that somebody said they didnt thank because it wasnt useful to them. That is the point of the thank you system, and that comment was only made because of the complaint as to why nobody thanked.

The people on this forum are getting more and more aggressive :(

This post should qualify on the grounds of interest to others, and that I made the effort. Should get a lot of thanks for this, apparently :S

I thank when I believe thanks is due. Not every person who posts, but the ones who post what I appreciate are very good deals, even if they are of no specific interest to me.... and this is a very good deal. The caps lock simply defines my post from the original quote.

Not sure the forum is getting more aggressive....just overloaded with miserable gits.......... how hard is it to say thank you?

Thanks DC, tried Brighton but no luck there either...

Brighton's stock computer showed one at Burgess Hill Currys, when I got there the manager made lots of excuses starting with the case being dented through the PSU not working to it being a write-off so he couldn't sell it to me. Think he probably wanted it for himself!

Oh well, guess thats life! Good post though, as you say it would have been worth it for the parts alone.

    Well said smashed....
  • Thanks to the OP. I've tried to get one and it is a genuine offer but none left within 30 miles of birmingham in pc world, currys or dixons group. 1 was showing in oxford.
    Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

In reality we should all just stay on topic. If a thread is of use to somebody, they should thank. If somebody wants to talk about the item, either positively, or via constructive criticism, then they should post a reply. All these arguments just clutter the forum and cause arguments. :(

But I do agree, people should thank if its a good deal. Perhaps this just wasnt ideal for many as it was instore, and only a couple of units around the country. Not likely that we will have 100 thanks if there only say 6 available nationwide :(

Anyway... lets help each other :)

A good post, just not for me.
