I find it really strange that Butlins have so little knowledge of Mr Fisher as Iknow for a fact Mr Fisher was renting caravans in 2008. The reason Iknow that is because we rented one off him Sandhills 222 and he was renting 255 the same weekend we were there. That is why we had no worry about booking this April . Oh how wrong can you be.0

It seems to me as if Butlins are trying to wash their hands of this.
I spoke to them earlier and they were most unhelpful.
We have holidayed at Butlins lots of times but never again, and i'll be advising anybody who asks against visiting!
I know we are only a few of the millions who have/will visit Butlins and we are just numbers to them but it'd nice to hear a helpful word or two?0 -
hi ppl just thought i'd let u all know that the police have just contacted me and are taking the matter serious and are coming out on thursday to take a formal statement for deception so i urge everyone to go back or go to their local police and persue this matter cos it is serious. i will keep ppl updated when the meeting is over and let u all know what is happening.0

Thankyou Nicola, will do so, didn't go before as trading standards said it was civil matter. Not sure if I can say this on forum but he has previous convictions in 1996 and 2003 which may help with ongoing enquiries. Glad u liked the ditty, we all need a laugh, it's good medicine!0

Hi thanks for this i didn't bother going to the police as i was told it was a civil matter aswellbut now i'll wait and see what you have to tell us after your meeting, surely if enough of us give our details to the police they should be able to do something:rolleyes:
anyway keep intouch guys. oh just an update i just filed a claim in the small claims court against scambag will see what that turns up:rolleyes:.0 -
i contacted my local police right at the beginning and was told there was nothing they could do as it was a civil matter. what did the police say to you?
do you think it would be worth giving them a call back?
ive booked a caravan on butlins with another owner for 30th may, fingers crossed it all goes ok! :rolleyes:0 -
ok ppl as promised here is my updat after giving my formal statement to police.
the police have been in touch with butlins who would not tell them anything at all as they have been advised to direct all enquiries to trading standards. seems they dont want anything to do with it at all. the police have tried to contact mr fisher on the telephone numbers i gave them but have been unsuccessful mmmm i wonder why. anyway on talking to trading standards the police have been ordered by them to collect formal statements from all parties so they can gather as much evidence as possible if they get enough evidence it can go to crown court instead of magistrates. trading standards are collecting all the evidence which may take some time and then they will go and arrest mr micheal fisher for fraud. he does have previous convictions all though i'm not sure what they are for but looks like mr fisher has been a naughty boy on other occasions .
my advice to everyone concerned is to get back in touch with trading standards and ask them what is the best thing to do. the police should take formal statements for evidence even if they dont believe there is anything they can do. west yorkshire police have taken it very serious and i cant understand why other divisions are saying it is a civil matter because as far as i am concerned and our local police it is definately a case for fraud and deception.
if i hear anything else i will most definately post it on her for you to know.
message for mr and mrs fisher: i know you must read this forum and are laughing at us right now but believe me we will have the last laugh when you are banged up you scumbag see you in court.0 -

OK, here goes. I have reported our friend to my local police station.(Bedfordshire Police) Gave them all the info and told them to contact Suffolk Trading and Yorkshire Police. What happens now is up to them so will keep u posted as to outcome. On arriving home I was contacted by trading standards for more info, said I was willing to make statement and attend court if nessessary. By the way, did u know that if company is Ltd only company can be liable/ not individual. But my argument is that I bought holiday from individual, not Ltd company but then u have to persue it yourself. Either way there is no guarentee of getting money back. So I guess we'll have to camp on his drive after all?:rotfl:0
