bring your brown paper bag for Leeds then! it's gonna be heaving!!

I'm looking forward to my wee 5k on saturday, less of a big deal as have done the 10k but if the weather is as glorious as this it will be tough!!

It's at Balmoral and i'm driving.... so we're taking picnics along and making a day of it.... the days events are well spaced out...

Erin and lauren (one of the kids of runchum Debbie, who is coming in our car) run at 1115

Me n Debbie run at 1215

Rachel runs her 10k at 1415......

Rachel and i are both on CD (and both get weighed on sundays!) so don't know how great a picnic is gonna be! buy hey ho!! it'll be nice for kids... and hopefully a nice family day out. Sunny with cloudy spells at race time would be ideal!!!

and on sunday it is the biiiiiig day!!! i'm gonna be glued to the telly!! it'll be ace!!! Hoping for a cooler day for you guys, it always makes me think when Steve Cram or Brendan whatsit says "ooooh it's a lovely day here, perfect for running" - yeah well maybe for the Ethiopians at the front, (am i allowed to say that!?!? sounds a bit racist, but it's not meant to be, honest!) Anyway my point is, it's probably too hot for everyone else really........ apart from maybe the top 100 runners who train in all weathers......
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

LOL, Maz, hadn't really thought about that tbh..I am usually at the back where its not too crowded....

I'll be doing a little cheer for Erin on Saturday, bless her, takes after her mum....

My next race isn't until May 10th then I seem to have four one after the other.....plenty of practise...

And I think its usually the Kenyons at the front isn't it...or is it a mixture of both....I read a really interesting article on mr salasi....(I have no idea how you spell it but I am sure you all know who I mean)

    hi all.

On the subject of Whitby/Scarborough, I have lots of very happy child hood holiday memories there in self catering cottages etc around the area. My Dad would go to cricket week and my Mum would take us down the beach. I remember being at a jousting event on the top of the cliffs at Scarborough when I was 6 and my hat flew off and over the edge of the cliff. It was hanging onto the edge and this bloke (total stranger) went and precariously balanced on the edge to get it for me!! I have no idea why - bloody stupid act for a straw hat really. I got very burnt on that holiday staying at Cayton Bay - it was the 1976 summer. I remember it really hurting. My Mum only told me recently that she felt guilty for years for allowing me to get so burnt. My mum and dad have wanted to buy a B+B in Whitby or Scarborough for as long as I can remember.

Looked back at the chat about holidays last night - some :eek::eek: prices being discussed. If anyone ever wants a hand with booking a flight and then a hotel and transfer themselves rather than going through a travel agency, just PM me, you'll save a fortune. We paid £150 each for our 8 nights B+B in the suite ( 4 star) we had in Spain and our 10 night Portugal holiday is £220 (right on the seafront, brand new apartment) each. Places like Alpharooms and Resorthoppa are on Quidco as well, so you can get cashback on the rooms and transfer. If you can get a CC, try the Flybe card which is offering 2 free flights to Europe, just pay taxes. This would mean you could get a summer flight and just pay £60 or so each taxes and the flight would be free.

Hi, marathon peeps, I get paid tomorrow so will try to give you all a little something (I hope Lenny's not around, that sounded a bit rude :o :rotfl: ) - I'm sure you will all be fab! :T

Been trying to find something for my best mate's 30th birthday - it's not till October but trying to think ahead here. Thought about getting tickets for one of Pink's concerts cos she loves her but blimey the prices  Think I was being a bit naive as nothing I've been to has ever cost me £100 a ticket!!
