Sorry not been on the site for a while.

Got 3 letters from them and ignored all of them. Heard nothing since which is well over a year now!
  • glad you came back, its nice to know. Most posters just fade away and we just assume all was well.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Hello,I too have fallen victim to PC PLUS parking fine saying I must pay £80 or £50 before a certain date for being parked at Toddington services for more than 2 hours. It was 3.15 in morning I was shattered after a 18 hour shift and did as the matrix sign suggests "DON'T DRIVE TIRED" pulled into a service station and had a rest. Unfortunately for me I snoozed for more than 2hrs and picked up a fine. Who's on who's side here?? obviously MOTO services, PC Plus and the police have done scientific research to realise the human body only needs exactly 2hrs sleep to fully recover and be fit to endure another 120 miles of Sh*t motorway. What a load of boll*cks! I phoned and asked to see the photographic evidence and why the hell doesnt someone come along to wake me and send me on my way (stupid question I know, coz they want to rape us of every penny we've got, including the coffee prices). basically does it work to ignore the fine "who are PC PLUS are they a call your bluff company?" In future I'm gonna rely on rumble strips to wake me

CP plus can be ignored. They won't take this any further. And, by the way, it's not a "fine", it's an unenforceable invoice.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

The Police? They have nothing to do with this, it's NOT a fine! Just ignore the bogus PCN.

Read the threads at the top of the board and work your way down until you understand what this is all about. You'll find pictures of the threatogram letters from the company's pet debt collector you can safely ignore (since they are NOT a bailiff) and you'll find a link to Watchdog a few months ago which shows you exactly what to do with that ticket:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

    Happy reading!

Then you'll understand that you can ignore this and there'll be no Court nor any effect on your credit rating. You just have to ignore some letters, that's all, it's not scary. I have done it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Only ever take seriously a ticket from the Police, or TransportforLondon, or a Council (and very rarely a railway bylaws ticket if issued by a Train Company). All others are scams including hospital issued ones. Of course you must NOT pay it!

You probably stumbled upon this old thread by an internet search, and perhaps think it's a one-off thread? No, here's the whole board, almost every case is talking about private parking charges:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

There are over 100 pages of posts there, almost all telling people like you that they can safely ignore companies like CP Plus. They just send out debt collector threatening letters, nothing more, no Court, no Bailiffs, no effect on your credit rating by ignoring this scam.

Most of us on here have ignored PPC tickets - honestly they must NOT be paid, it would be like sending money in response to a Nigerian Lottery winning email!

See this info on PPC tickets and make sure you view the Watchdog youtube link linked under the 'Private Parking Companies' title:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=1363571

Watch and laugh as the Watchdog legal chap makes his ticket into a paper aeroplane - like yours, it's a fake PCN with a pretty picture of a car on it (so what). And then read as many posts as you can to on our forum - from that first link above - until your eyes glaze over with boredom at seeing the word 'IGNORE' yet again.

Hope that's clear. By the way, it was all copied and pasted from my reply a few posts up this page, from a year ago. Nothing has changed and the answers are already here.

One of my tickets was a CP Plus/Moto motorway service area one.

I believe Moto own CP Plus, there's certainly a close link.

But that doesn't matter, I didn't pay the ticket.

The letters stop after about six months.
  • My partner received a parking fine from CP plus after pulling onto Strensham South Services for a rest as he felt that he was too tired to drive. He fell asleep and slept longer than anticipated (3 hours and 55 minutes). As it was 4.33 am when he pulled in, the car park was almost empty. The fine is £80 or £50 with early payment. Should we reply with what we consider a reasonable payment of £10 (the fee for 24hrs of parking on the site), or ignore the letters? Their correspondence mentions credit ratings and debt collection. Most forums advise ignoring it but we can't help being a little concerned about the legal side of things. We would really appreciate any advice.

You've posted on a 2 page thread with pretty much every post saying ignore,;take a wild stab in the dark as to what the advice to you would be....
