    ...and btw - it's spelled "B-u-c-k-e-t"
  • I have just got back from holiday and found a parking fine demand in the post. They are total inaccurate with their allegations - though I will have to check that my Reg No has not been cloned or duplicated!

My car is new and has only done 176 miles and couldn't have been to Ferrybridge! The car was parked at my house in the south of England at the time. The car in the photographic "evidence" might have the same Reg No as mine but the make and colour were not remotely the same as those registed for the Reg No with the DVLA!

I think that I will take you advice and sit on it and see what happens. I certainly don't feel inclined to spend money on postage.

Ignore all the letters, you've got it. You will receive a few more then it will fizzle out. :)

I expect the company has noted down the wrong reg number but at least that's one less ticket they are going to get payment for! I wouldn't dignify the letter with a response, don't waste your time or postage.

Yeah just ignore as coupon says

but if it was me I would send a response via email just for a laugh, because its physically impossible to be there, wonder what their reponse would be lol
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Further to my "parking fine" while I was away on holiday. This matter has now been reported to the police (as advised on the DVLA web site) and I have a crime number in case I get other demands or stopped by the police looking out for the alleged car!

    Thanks for your advice.

Having a crime number makes a good basis to involve Trading Standards.
  • Hi,
I know this is a year later, but did "danbran" successfully avoid paying the CP Plus parking ticket?

I have just got a ticket in the same circumstances.

    Thanks.

Yes, you dont need to pay anything its an invoice not a fine. Read all the other posts on here.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

    PRESS THANKS

Hang on I'll give it a shot, probably along the lines this,

"We reject your appeal on the basis that you MUST have reversed your vehicle all the way to the said point thus resulting in the lack of milage registered on the said vehicle. We have witnesses and CCTV evidence (which you can pay us £20 to see) of your vehicle hurtling backwards down the motorway, also above the 70 MPH speed limit we should say, just to warn you. This evidence is irrefutable therefore pay now or we may get our super, duper scary debt collectors on to you and absolutely may take you to court and your credit history may be affected.

By the way any PPC trolls out there do not try to copy this template response or I will be forced to sue you for breach of copyright. :)

Of course he did. This is so common that we know it as a fact even though he didn't post again.

You probably stumbled upon this old thread by an internet search, and perhaps think it's a one-off thread? No, here's the whole board, almost every case is talking about private parking charges, there's even a link to a radio show from today which talked about PPC tickets and had a caller from here telling people they are unenforceable:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

There are over 100 pages of posts there, almost all telling people like you that they can safely ignore companies like CP Plus. They just send out debt collector threatening letters, nothing more, no Court, no Bailiffs, no effect on your credit rating by ignoring this scam.

Most of us on here have ignored PPC tickets - honestly they must NOT be paid, it would be like sending money in response to a Nigerian Lottery winning email!

See this info on PPC tickets and make sure you view the Watchdog youtube link linked under the 'Private Parking Companies' title:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1363571

Watch and laugh as the Watchdog legal chap makes his ticket into a paper aeroplane and then read as many posts as you can to on our forum - from that first link above - until your eyes glaze over with boredom at seeing the word 'IGNORE' yet again.
