Just off the phone from BT in Belfast. He was shocked that I had been charged so he is crediting my account with £135 today and then I can ring tomorrow to get the credit refunded into my bank account.0

Just like to add our experience signing up for the free BT installation deal.
We called a couple of weeks ago to arrange a line for our new home which we moved into on Friday 25th September, all seemed to go smoothly.
We moved in to find the line was already active, and could make a phone call. Impressed with the service so far we thought to save the engineer wasting time on a visit, we called BT to cancel the engineer and let them know the line was already active.
Saturday morning the line is dead! We called BT, spent over half an hour on the phone getting nowhere fast (mainly on hold). They didn't recognise the account number or the reference number that we received on the BT letter, tried to get us to put another order in. We gave up and decided to leave it until Monday morning.
Called on Monday and was directed through to sales again. It appears the whole order was cancelled, not just the engineer!! Now we've been told we can't get connected until the 13th of October!!
If the line can be remotely disconnected overnight surely the line can be reactivated just as quick?
As you can imagine we're not particularly happy, left with no phone for over two weeks and running up mobile phone bills mainly speaking to BT so far..

I called BT 15 minutes ago to arrange a new line for a new build we're buying. All done and dusted within a few minutes, 18 month contract with no connection charge.
Thank you MSE!0 -
Hi Roberthomson,
Sorry to hear about the problems you have had with the activation of your BT line. I can take a look at this to see if there is anything I can do to get the activation done a bit quicker. Drop me a PM or email to forum.moderation.team AT bt.com with you details and I will see what I can do.
Thanks

I have similar problems. I ordered on 15th Sept a free line install and Broadband 3 package, for the broadband I had to pay a £25 deposit.
Tried getting hold of BT middle of last week t find out what had happened, eventually I had to track it online as I couldnt get through, and discovered that the whole order had been cancelled without my knowledge.
I tried calling and ended up emailing a complaint as BT still had my £25 deposit.
Friday I called and finally got someone, I was told they didnt know how the order had been cancelled, but that it could not be re-instated.
If I wanted to re-place the original order I was then told I would have to pay another £25, this I refused as BT still had the first £25. The advisor told me this had been refunded to my card, I told him it hadnt as I had cheked online beore calling.
So we had stalemate, BT would not reinstate my order without another £25, I wouldnt pay as they still have my original £25!
I then receied a message on my mobile saying someone would contact me Saturday to resolev....never got the call.
This morning....still no refund onto my card, so I have sent a third complaint email to BT as I will only get pushed around in circles again.
I have been in my property now for 2 weeks, no phone or broadband installed, BT still have my £25 and wont do anything to help.
Quite frankly im jarred off to say the least!!0 -

Now we've had a few confirmations that this offer has been extended until the end of the year, perhaps Martin/mod can change the offer page, as it still says 'last chance'?0

If I was Martin I'd wait until the Price List was updated.0 -
I am a member of the forces who has just been posted to another unit whose policy is only to allow BT to provide to the camp. having moved into the sgts mess i found a socket in my room with all the cabling, I spoke to bt and was told the orriginal line had been ceased. When i told them that i wanted a new line they quoted the £122.50 for it. I am more than prpared to sign up for a 18mth contract does this offer still apply can someone from bt advise (I also do comms for the army and do exactly the same as BT i cant beleve they charge this much)0

I have spoken to BT this morning and have been told that I have to take out their full package which costs £10.70 a WEEK! and also a £45 deposit - this package included a load of stuff: broadband, wireless home hub, digi box, HD ready box..... I asked if i could just have the line rental and broadband but was told this was not possible if i wanted free connection!!! He was also pretty annoyed when i asked for this!!! I am now very confused! Do I try again or just stick with my Virgin package..!0
