Countdown til I propose

I am hoping for a long engagement, save us some money and stuff so not even thinking about the wedding.
We will be in London before hotel accepts check-in, is there anywhere that can store our luggage so we can go round London 'bag-free'0 -
Dummy ring went down well with my fiance, handy if you dont know her exact requirements, I proposed with a plastic ring, the following weekend we went to Brums Jewellery quarter and choose the perfect ring for her. And saved a fortune in the process. Although I did nearly fall over when she pointed out one she liked and it cost 24K!0

Think dummy ring is the way to go even though I always thought I would be brave enough to choose it.
Yeah, seen a few like that, somethimes the bigger they are they can look fake though0 -

If you are arriving into St.Pancras they store luggage there, I don't know about the other stations though. It's about £5 a bag for 24 hours which I don't think is too bad.
Good Luck :beer:0 -

if it won't be spoiling the surprise, the hotel will also hold your luggage for free, whilst you go out.0

Thanks sooz,
That is looking ideal, and although expensive, not horribly so.
I would hope that the Malmaison could keep my bags on the Monday allowing us to walk around Hatton Garden in relative peace0 -
I would agree with asking the hotel about a picnic - My OH (a chef) is occassionally asked to do things like that and is more than happy to oblige, often the cost is waived. I think many people are genuinely happy to help in circumstances like yours and feel honoured to be contributing to a special moment in your life.
Its always worth a call to ask anyways and if they don't seem happy to help or want to charge a fortune then you have plenty of other options! For example, you could take ablanket and picnic set along with you (these a cheaply available from places like mountain warehouse) then that morning call into a deli and buy a little selection of meats, cheeses, bread etc and a bottle of bubbly then find a nice romantic spot for your picnic.
Oh, and another vote here for using a dummy ring!!
Good luck with your proposal, I'm sure your (soon to be) fiance will be delighted by all the thought you have put into making it special for her.0 -
I have found out she has always wanted to see Lion King from her sister so booked two tickets at the Lyceum,
Iternary looking like so
Arrive stansted 8:20
Booked EasyBus to Victoria for 9:10
Arrive London 10:50
Lunch at Fire and Stone (free with ticket) 1:00
Lion King 3:00
Lion King Finish 6
Got meal at Malmaison at 9
Find somewhere nice for drink
Propose somewhere
Hatton Market all day Sun
Bus at 7pm
Flight at 10pm
I am thinming I should collect tickets as lyceum near victoria at 11ish?
Checkin at hotel not usually til 2pm but think by time get tickets, get some sort of oyster card thing will be close enough time
Thinking can fit walk round charing cross after lunch before lion king
Writing it down seems quite intense, so do not want to try and fit anything else in that wont be able to do
Also, we check out of hotel at 12pm on Monday - so i am thinking that maybe need to put our bags somewhere if hotel dont let us keep them with them0 -
Just wanted to say hi and wish you well, OH and I have been following your thread since you first asked but we haven't been able to contribute anything as we're near Glasgow too and don't know anything about London.
Sometimes when hubby sees me on MSE he says, "anything from yer man today?", meaning give him an update of your posts and plans you've made.:rotfl:
As for the dummy ring idea, I'd want a ring to wear right away so have a look at cheapy sparklers in Argos for under £20 or something from Accesorise or even Marks and Sparks.
Keep blogging...and I can't wait for the news of how it all goes.....all the best xYou'll make my day if I know I've been helpful to you in some small way,
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x
