    Morning OS friends! hi.gif
    welcome2.gifbuggalugs and grandmasam!
Lame Wolf - sorry I missed your birthday - hope you had a good one!
Squiggly - re my new casserole dish I was looking for a pottery one actually but then decided a pan I could boil a LOT of potatoes in in one go OR stick in the oven with a casserole had better be metal so it could cope with my OHs rough handling!
Lillabet - Tristan sent another email today also and yesterday! Same thing, just 'You have no idea how much I miss you'. Makes me happy and sad at the same time if that make sense! But it IS great to know he is still alive and kicking.
Christabell - I have a friend who started eating local honey last year and said she had a much much better summer than she had for years. She found it at a farmers market but I am sure there are outlets for local honey all around the place.
Essex-girl - good luck with the list honey
Aussie - Wow! What a gorgeous looking (and fairly scary) snake that is!
thriftlady and Jayward - I buy copper sticky tape from ebay and stick it around the opening of my growbags and around the rims of my pots. Seems to work.
nic1 - still thinking of you and sending hugs
Halight - Hope you come back to us soon
pen-pen - As Aussie said, personally I find it important to wish the actual people who post on here a happy birthday. Sometimes I notice when people mention family members too but I usually don't think to mention them when my posts are already horrendously long. I hope she had a good one anyway.

Another gorgeous sunny day but my OH is working two jobs today so won't be able to get out in the garden (can't manage the steps without him). However, I have all the windows open and the house feels very summery now.

The Ham hocks we cooked on Sunday turned out to be pork hocks! so the idea for left overs didn't work. The spare is still sitting in the fridge. We had friends down last night and it got late so we had a chinese takeaway and there is enough left for tonights dinner too.

My Tescos order arrives today and am very excited as I am getting my first bottle of Stardrops! Will have to go and find the thread now as my home help and OH just looked at me as if I was mad when I was so enthusiastic about finding it on the Tescos website!

Have ordered some spring onion seeds. Bit later than planned but finally ordered. Have lots of plug plants to pot up at present. Can report the greenhouse is finally out of the bedroom and in the garden!

Warm gentle grouphug.giffor all. Do something nice for yourself today.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.
If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.

Thanks SunnyGirl and Wannabe Sybil for the details of the recipe, that seems so easy and I have all those ingredients, will try this tomorrow evening.

Must start packing for my hols tonight - yay! Will have to try hard not to over-do the spending while away. Staying at my parents in Spain so should be quite a cheap holiday, fingers crossed! SO far I've managed not to buy any new clothes to take with me - which is unusual! I've got plenty of things which will do for now.

Then back to saving when I'm back and starting to tackle all those household jobs that you all seem to do so quickly here. I think I'm going to get my way through lots of stardrops and soda crystals! Will have a good look through the OS threads to get tips before I start to get myself together, there is so many ideas on here I;m sure it's going to mean lots more money saving.

I have bought two tubes of toothpaste:D Thanks for the reminders.

Thanks also for all the slug tips:T I think I'll try the eggshells first as that'll be free and move on to copper tape if they don't work.

My hairdresser had heard of Judi Dench and she hasn't made a bad job of it, but it is shorter than I've ever had it before  I think it would really suit me if were a few stone lighter:rolleyes:

I've mowed the lawn and got all the washing done and dry but I've not made any bread and I still don't know what's for tea.

Thriftlady my advice would be to print off a pic of Judy Dench complete with the required haircut of course and take that with you to show the hairdresser what you want done, and oh yes dont forget the toothpaste!!!!!!

I agree... did anyone see that episode of Friends where Phoebe cut Monicas hair like Dudley instead of Demi Moore??:rotfl:

Maybe you could cut the slices into fingers, and stack them in a heap?
Hmmm. "cut" and "fingers" in the same sentence? Look away, Betheebee and N9eav!:D:D

I did wonder, but hoped that leaving mention of the puff pastry would disguise it into a cookery suggestion rather than an instruction!

Afternoon folks..................((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

At the allotment this morning, watered and weeded the tayberries and raspberries, did a bit of cleaning up, carted a load of pots to the car to bring home.....All the pots are now here, I am waiting for the plants to come from Parkers. I ordered them over a month ago, would have thought some of them would be here by now.

Lunch over started prep for supper, liver and bacon tonight, all ready to cook in the remoska, spuds carrots and cauli......there have been a lot of nee naws this afternoon, not sure what is going on but it sure seemed to need a lot of police and ambulances......

Fighting with myself not to go to Mr T's and buy wine. I have £17 in vouchers in the biscuit barrel, I would have to put a couple of pounds to for 6 bottles.....I usually save my vouchers up to use for 'extras' at Christmas, should I shouldn't I??????oh dear what shall I do......not that I am an alki, but I do enjoy a glass occasionally with my supper.

Going to chill this afternoon might even have a quick zizz.............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Well, I've looked at the sky, preferred my opinion to the weatherman and I am not hanging out any washing. I am once again pressing the airer into service.

Also the building across the way is still being refurbished, so the ironing would probably be a bit dusty  Whenever it got done. I don't think I've seen that building without a skip outside it for months and months. At least the sandblasting has finished.

Hugs to all, especially those with poorly hands.

Surrender, and go and buy it. Let me recommend a glass of chilled Rose D'Anjou, the label is Champteloup. Perfect for a sunny day;)
